Stephen King's Under the Dome. So bad it's amazing,just when you think the storyline can't get any more preposterous they manage it,every episode worse than the last. It's a must see.

Personal opinion alert;
While theres maybe 5% of his books that I haven't rated, it seems to me that the shonky TV/Film adaptations (yes, looking at you Dark Tower* well may you hang your head in shame) run at about 60% or more.

Edit * especially when you consider the time and money spent on that Witcher nonsense.

From what I've read King hasn't been too complimentary of the adaptations of much of his work over the years. Famously hating The Shining.
Under the Dome like The Stand is very much a good v evil story told through the lens of American society. When I saw Spielberg was involved in this thought it might be decent. The first series was just about watchable with a straight face but series two took a quick dive into neo farce,which for me made it a better watch with some genuine laugh out loud moments.

It`s a weird one isn`t it ?

Virtually all of his best selling books are ready made for film / tv adaptations, yet the majority of the adaptations feel cheap and really poorly done.

With the amount of money the likes of HBO, Sky Atlantic, Apple etc are prepared to put into making proper quality tv and film, makes you wonder why the majority of Kings adaptations are still rubbish ?
