Watched the first three episodes of, The Night Of, yesterday, which I believe is starting on Sky Atlantic tomorrow (?).

Eight part murder mystery that sees Naz accidentally pick up a stunner (he's a college student who's borrowed his dad's taxi to go to a party, gets lost and she gets in the cab). They go back to her place where they drink, take drugs and have sex.

He wakes up hours later only to find her repeatedly stabbed to death. He panics, does a runner, taking the murder weapon with him but is picked up for drunk driving and then, eventually, linked to the murder, once he's searched and the cops find the knife.

His 'ambulance chasing' lawyer sets about trying to prove he's innocent. Is he? Who knows?

Excellent viewing thus far, going to try and do the five remaining episodes tonight.

James Gandolifini is listed as an Exec Producer, if anyone here is interested in that sort of stuff.

Umm mabey season 4 there were 10 eps like all the other seasons so i figured that was the end of the season... didnt know it had been split in 2
Ya season 4 was split into 2 with 10 episodes in each.not sure why though.the second part is due to be released before the end of the year.

I've just watched the brand new episode of Porridge (on Iplayer)

I imagined I'd hate it but, to be fair, it wasn't too bad if viewed as a stand alone new comedy.

Shamelessly rehashed one or two gags from the original but just about gets away with it.

Not a patch on the original, obviously, but not the abortion I was envisaging.

7/10

Watched the first episode of Ripper Street. Usual overacting, but will continue if only for the use of Victorian slang.

I don't agree with you there mate.

It's one of the best things the BBC have ever done imo

The sets are brilliant and I really liked the use of the Stanley Dock for the dockland scenes.

The cast is superb, particularly Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothensburg as the American Doctor

Every series gets better
