TV Series

Watched Acolyte and kinda meh, not exactly terrible but really didn't pulled me in.
Really surprised this got over 90 review score and with comparison with Andor.

Tried to watch The Responder again but give up again. The amount of swearing, do all Scousers swear like that? 😆
Everyone swears in the UK all the time!

I didn't think The Responder was great, though Martin Freeman is always watchable I suppose.
The characters seemed to spend their shifts sorting out their own problems. In a big city they'd be busy all night, especially at weekends.

Maybe the second series is better but I'll not be watching.

I managed the first series it's the second what's not good. And I don't hear people swearing all the time unless they kids on the buses and then I tell them to shut up lol

Eric - Netflix.

An easy one to overlook, but once you get past the first episode, it becomes very good.

Dominic Cumberbach excels as a nasty, New York tv puppeteer, who’s young son goes missing on the way to school and who starts to hallucinate a life size puppet, as he desperately try’s to find his son.

Even the character that Cumberbach plays is very hard to like, he will very likely win awards for this.

It’s unrelentingly bleak, as he searches for his son in the underbelly of New York, amongst the paedos, the drug dealers and homeless community.

Recommended.

I was gonna start this but the little preview didn't really pull me in.

It’s very good.

I was pretty much the same and was thinking of jibbing it, as the first episode wasn’t doing it for me, but it picks up massively with every episode after that.

Each episode peels back layers on things that the various cast members are typing to hide - drug use, the use of rent boys, drink problems etc.

Everyone has something to hide.

As you can see, it’s seedy and dark as hel.

I do like anything with Cumby in too.
