Just started watching..... Stranger Things. IMDB give it 9.3.......... Feels like a modern day Goonies so far..... only 20 mins in...... think it will not turn out like THE Goonies though.

Detectorists is brilliant humor. I love the opening track as well.
I'll watch Ballers but after last season it is going to have to up its game to keep me watching. Not a big fan of any of the characters bar the one ex-player making a comeback and The Rock's baldy mate. Not much really happened, it was like Entourage with all the flash but none of the substance behind it that made Entourage worth watching.

Been watching the new version of Roots with the girlfriend who never seen the original. Quite surprised at how different it is in parts. I can't remember Allah being mentioned once in the original but he's all over the first episode. Either way it has been a good series so far.
Allah eh? I remember when Lawrence Fishburne was happy with being called Larry in the credits of his early films...could be some Kunta Kinte getting political.
Starts on SBS 27 July in Aus.

It makes a bit of sense since he was from Guinea. Could see them leaving it out in the original at the time. I think the original is better to be honest.

Watched 3 episodes of that Stranger Things on Netflix with Wynona Rider in it. It was very well done and can't wait to watch more.
It is like if ET, The Goonies, Poltergeist, and Paranormal activity were rolled together and made into a telly show. Well worth a watch.

It's really great, Me and the wife just finished watching the first season. It's literally a homage to spielberg and carpenter....awesome soundtrack too. Keep watching !!

Definately got an 80's kids movie vibe: ET meets the Goonies.
I Like it so far, seems to have the nostalgia value of something older than it is. And as said above, the music is great!
Also the kid with half his teeth missing is rather funny
Not sure on the 9.3 tho!
