You've just made my day .Just read that season 2 of Gomorrah starts on 10th May. I would recommend season 1 to anyone who enjoys The Wire type tv.

That's the one mate, it's based in Rhode Island .

Need a new series now to watch.
Third series improves though
Yeah it's not the best but it's decent enough .Im up to series 2 episode 7...
Forwarding alot of it though for 3 episodes now...only the brothers stories are interesting. The women are doing my head in.

Romanzo Criminalli is better.
I struggled with that, think i got through 6 or 7 episodes of it....nothing really seemed to happen in it other than them prancing around acting arrogantly and the cop sub plot was weird...
Gomorrah i thought was brilliant though. Beem searching for a similar series to that.
It gets good after that mate, I loved the feel of it, kind of gritty, feels more real.
I worked with an Italian bloke and he said it feels as close to 'authentic' as you will get.

Yeah? I watched it with high hopes but just didnt find any of the characters likeable or had no interest in them...all arrogant so most likely realistic...but just cant relate really.
The hooker was hot as.....though
Main character just did my head in as well....sort of bloke who you just wanted to slap really.
Where does it start to improve?
I like the wire/ the shield / gomorrah type shows and quite keen to find more like this.
First 6 ish are slower, build up character etc....not even got round to watching season 2, just so much to watch.
I love 'The Wire' and 'The Shield', like Gamorrah too, like them all tbh. The writing is superb, English TV is dead to me.
Soprano's is still probably my number 1, seen it 4 times now, and The Wire 3.
I want to see it but it's just the same as the film but spread over 2 series rather than 2 hours ? The film is okIt gets good after that mate, I loved the feel of it, kind of gritty, feels more real.
