TV Series

Watched first episode of 11.12.63 miniseries (from Stephen King book about time travel and Kennedy assassination) with Chris Cooper and James Franco. Was looking forward to it but didn't really do it for me. Very different from book (which I really enjoyed).

The Girlfriend Experience started the other day. Looks pretty good, Soderbergh is the exec producer and it has a few House of Cards actors in. As you can tell from the trailer, whether you watch it with your partner is up for you. Luckily, my partner loves this kind of thing lol

Anyone watched Thirteen? The BBC drama about the girl who escaped captivity after 13 years. Now on episode 4 and pretty decent so far.

Anyone recommend any documentaries similar to that steven avery thing, (watched the one about the american millionaire as well, which was boss)

also listened to all of both seasons of the serial podcast, so something similar to that maybe?

About an hour into the first episode and its great. Only problem is JJ Abrams is involved and there's already strong signs this is going to be another LOST, so I'm naturally wary.

Didn't like the fact that Chris Cooper spent long flashbacks 'explaining' stuff to Franco/the audience (although I appreciate it might be necessary to educate people about who was involved in assassination and the theories) and definitely didn't appreciate the straight drive down to Dallas. One of the pleasures of the book was the leisurely set-up of the hero's adjustment to the new time and the effects of his travel. Probably a third of the book before he got there...

Just started watching the following shows........

Limitless. Good show, takes a while to hit its groove and i think they have threw everything at this first series so it is renewed then it may struggle. Enjoyable show though, and follows the film mythos quite well.

Ash vs Evil dead. enjoying it so far, much shorter than others, 10 x 30 minute episodes. If you have seen the evil dead you know what to expect, if not it is a cross between a comedy and an 80's horror film. enjoyable show so far.

Lucifer- Bit of an odd one to explain properly. It is a tired cop show type, with the devil tagging along with a cop whilst he uses his power to get people to confess things and his brother keeps showing up to take him back to hell. Its ok, only 2 episodes in so far, cant help feel from the actor playing lucifer that they wrote the part a little bit for Russell Brand. Has a couple of funny moments though.

Finished brotherhood in a week . After finishing the lit it's defo worth a watch .

On the last episode of series 3 blue bloods now as well.

Matrioski next . I started watching it a couple of years ago then lost it off the sky planner . But it was good from what I remember .

Just started with brotherhood, theres a few series with the same name this one is about the politician and the crime boss....based on whitey bulger i think.

same one?
