TV Series

History wise the Vikings is all over the place Ragner, and Rolo were never around at the same era, Rolo became Robert Norman who conquered England in the Normans for France !
Other than that the series thrived on action , and great storylines, as you say it's all over the place in this current series it's as if they are using the death of Ragner to see this series out?
I thought Rollo(Hrolfr) was the great-grandfather of William of Normandy who wins the battle of hastings? This all takes place about 100-150 years before that.

Also Ragnar is a figure from Norse mythology/sags and it has been highly disputed whether he actually lived. A lot of great Viking leaders like Ivar and Ubba claimed to be his sons but the historical jury is rather out on that one.

Ragner was allegedly killed in Northumbria his sons became great leaders Ivor the bone was supposed to be a monster brutal leader who pillaged the UK all mythology - the British series about Alfred the great was more historically accurate Viking wise in the era , and was a great series forgot the name of it now on a few months ago?

The Last kingdom.

You're right about the timelines being all messed up. The Siege of Paris by Rollo doesn't actually take place until a decade or so after the Great Heathen Invasion by Ragnar's sons is repelled by Alfred The Great.

Yes that's the series a bit more historical in line with some licence to elaborate, This series of the Vikings as been bog standard as we discussed!

They're really suffering from how expansive the scope of the Vikings' operations are. It is hard to watch the show and give a toss about what is going on in the French Court. Who cares about Rollo learning French?

The battle at the end was ace. I think when the next half of the season comes out and we see some of those storylines wrapped up then we will look back on it better.
