TV Series

The current season of The Vikings is not up to its usual brilliant standard unfortunately same as let's call Soul which is good but not hit the heights of the first series as yet still watchable though!
The Americans is still looking good three in of the new series - 100 Code was a very good first series too!

I've enjoyed it but think that they did Rollo oh so wrong, he became far too cultured too quickly to the point of being fluent in french in about 2 episodes and then the soliloquy with the poem in the last episode was just bizarre.
With him they had an opportunity to create a great character, a man torn between loyalties to his people, and loyalties to the wife he loves and the land and prestige that is promised. The pace of his character change and the newfound french fluency wasn't time appropriate IMO, nor fitting with what is otherwise a great series.

History wise the Vikings is all over the place Ragner, and Rolo were never around at the same era, Rolo became Robert Norman who conquered England in the Normans for France !
Other than that the series thrived on action , and great storylines, as you say it's all over the place in this current series it's as if they are using the death of Ragner to see this series out?

Hello Joey how are you today,

Vikings is clearly not historically accurate, it's a very foggy historical timeline, much of which is myth and legend.
Just think that it could have been fantastic character development in line with what has happened with Bjorn, but they ruined it.

Maigret. Rowan Atkinson stars, and does very well. You forget it's him after ten minutes. They ignore trying to do cod French accents which is a boon in my book. Look forward to seeing more.

Wow

50 odd years is a long time between drinks, could be that Rupert Davies was such an iconic casting as to render further attempts meaningless...until now

or maybe it just slipped between the cracks

*goes off looking for it

Edit; Talking of no dodgy accents Zen is worth a watch + fit bird as love interest
