Me too when the people that created the wire are involved in a series I always get intrigued.

Been really enjoying tokyo vice and I feel it's been largely successful in avoiding the white savior trope by fleshing out the Japanese characters and making more a tale and study of assimilating In an alien environment and just providing engrossing crime and thriller aspects while delving into the world of journalism. Also Michael Mann directed some of the episodes

I actually did a LOL at some of the scenes so far.

Nothing like gangs of London, first 3 episodes have barely any violence, its about crime reporting/journalism more than anything.

BBC have picked up Tokyo Vice, on later in the year
