Is this worth watching as someone who thought the mandalorin was meh along with pretty much everything released since the original trilogy?

its mostly fan service, so aside from one bad episode (3) I have thought its been great

Started watching Clickbait after a few recommendations on here, now the other half is totally addicted and I’m having to pause it if she goes for a brew or a burst.

Great plot that would have been a futuristic sci fi 20 years ago.

Just seen the little teaser trailer for the new Lord of the Rings show from amazon. I'm desperate for this to be good. There's so much amazing Tolkin content out there that's just begging for a faithful on screen adaptation. I just hope amazon don't do what they did to Wheel of Time and butcher the whole thing. It doesn't need random reimagined or flat out newly created scenes, nor does it need gratuitous violence for its own sake. If they crate this in the spirt that the films where made in the early 2000's when they strike gold but if they make them in the sort of spirt they had for the Hobbit movies when it'll be a total disaster.

is that maybe they should called the show somthing else because its a bit odd to reduce the lead character to an afterthought on his own show like they have here!

I'll be gutted if they just make up a load of rubbish. The Silmarillion is the best thing that Tolkien wrote and while I know that those of us who have read it will be a tiny minority of the audience I do think that the source material should be repected. The Lord of Rings films wasn't 100% accurate and understandably left out things such as Tom Bombadil and made certin changes due to time constraints but is still beloved by the fanbase so I don't see why they can't do the same with this.

Yeh I just can't see it unfortunately. I'm worried they're going to have characters made specifically for the series which instantly ruins it for me as all lore goes out of the window then. Yeah those posters don't exactly fill me with much hope. They look more Game of Thrones like then anything Tolkien created.

Soon as I see the character list and/or trailer I'll know how I'm going to find it. I'm sure I'll still love it even if it's crap just because it's more Tolkein content.
