Transfer deadline aftermath - view and reaction.

Purely in terms of comings and goings the club have done satisfactorily. We've signed international class players to make up a new right side for us once everyone is fit, adequately replaced our only high-profile departee, and retained Jo on loan. Anything more (Banega, Defour, etc) would've pushed this window beyond satisfactory and into *good*.

However, it's worrying that this window played out similarly to last summers', which I'm sure most would agree was pretty calamitous. Hopefully after the stadium decision is made we can go back to signing players before the season starts.

All the angst is rubbish really:

AVDM
Jacobson
Castillo
Lescott out.

Jo
Billy
Distin
Heitinga

The above four with the exception of Lescott didnt get anywhere near our first team last season (in fact im pretty sure Distin equalled AVDM appearence record last season). Did the above bar Lescott even make 12 appearences between them.

Better squad end of. Isnt that the point of the window.

*Heard it all now apparently we dont have a centre midfiled!

FFS! I'm sure you're Ian Ross.

I aint happy, but it was more than I expected. We have options on the right, but we have a glaring hole in the middle untill my Mikel is back.

Yet again we had to sell before we bought, shhit really, but hey ho, its the Everton Way.

Fair to say, i think the new stadium has cost a bit being called in and they are putting a bit by anticipating the thumbs up.

As happy as i am with what we have (especialy Billy) i thought they would break through the Lescott fee.

Tbf, it's more than I expected...which was basically Distin and Bilyaletdinov and Kenwright running over to the nearest Barclay's Bank with his account book laughing hysterically. The fat headed ****.

It's Keioc's fault we spent fcuk all?

Three potential class signings in a week - not too disapointed, when jags the yak and Arteta are back with half a dozen games under their belts we will be a very tasty proposition.....
To put it into perspective remember when transfer deadline day brought us bitter fruits like Carl Tiler, Mitch Ward, Tony Thomas , Gary Rowetts etc etc.... times have changed (y)
Although I have to admit something seems to stink in the everton boardroom and I don't mean BK's hush puppies.

Well on paper I think we have a better squad than last year. We got a good deal for Lescott (Hell we got more than Lyon got for Essien) We just gotta get players healthy, I've always thought that Peanut for as good as he is, is even better with Yak. Distin seems like he'll easily fit in and hopefully Billy can provide a threat on the right and Hetingina won't sulk.

God just imagine how good we'd be if McClaren qualified for Euro 08 and Arshavin was playing for us. He might be the player of the year this campaign.

Not happy that we seemed to learn fuc* all from last seasons fiasco.
Yet again we left it until the last days and hours to sign players, That we should have had in before pre season.
Happy enough in the end with what we brought in, but i would have preferred another central midfielder, and a quality right back.
Could have been far worse though, as i doubted Heitinga was going to come.

Thats true. We need investment/regular Champions League football.

Investment first like.

imagine if we'd got top 4, we still wouldnt be goin' out on a limb and spending more, cos if you dont get to the latter stages then the money i believe aint all that good.
the c.l. has to be attained regularly and you have to do well in it or it ends up costing you, and costing you big, we've all heard what has been said about if r/s or arsenal dont qual. quite simply they HAVE to be in it or they are severely up the creek.

i was hoping for someone in the middle though, like defour.
