Oh dear, todays winner (Bakelanks) and overall leader is another than has recovered from testicular cancer. Good on him for that, but the shadow of Armstrong just cannot be bleached away from this prestigious event.

David Millar is likely to be the race leader tonight. He's 1 second down on the general classification, and his Garmin team are favourites to win today's team time trial.

For the Irish (like me), there's an outside chance that Nicolas Roche (son of Stephen) will get into yellow, if team Saxo-Tinkoff win today. They're more likely to be around 5th, however.

Isn't Froome only 2secs down though? Seems likely that whoever wins today will provide the new yellow jersey wearer. Should be interesting. Shame for Sky that Thomas looks unlikely to play much of a part given his injury.
