Tour de France 2011

The Schleck's (Andy in particular) have been moaning big time over night, saying such descents aren't right. I used to enjoy watching Andy ride but have gone right off him lately. Cuddles for the win!

Galibier, highest ever tour finish tomorrow, covered in a footsnow. But two climbs before that is the 2700k climb (highest of the tour this year) so is that 2 foot deep in snow? And they were struggling with the descent today in warm sunny dry conditions.

Wow, what a stage. I'm no Andy fan but hats off to him for that attack. Cadel was gutsy as hell pulling everyone back up, and chapeau to Tommy as well for hanging in there. Shame on the rest. Basso, Contador et al. Meugh.

I was shocked at how Contador cracked on that last climb.

Great ride by Andy Schleck - very gutsy. It'll be interesting to see what he has left for tomorrow's climbs though. Evans finished strongly today and looks like he can eat into that 57 seconds Schleck has over him before the showdown time trial.

The longer he keeps the jersey, the more I like Voeckler. It's a shame he lost those 25 or 27 seconds on the final descent yesterday.

Voekler was gutsy but the hero for me was Cadel Evans, dragging everyone up the Galibier. I can't help but feel that Frank Schleck will do them all tomorrow. He looked pretty fresh at the end, whereas both Andy and Evans were really toughing it out. I can see the Schleck's trying to work Evans over. I'd love to see Cuddles win though, a very gutsy rider.

The tactics of this team puzzle me. I think they might be too clever by half if they dont get behind Andy now. They seem to have altered their opinion of which brother is best placed to win this tour, and they might end up falling betwen two stools if they're not careful.

Great stuff, today. With Andy running out and Frank hanging in there as resident vulture to swoop, the old onesey twosey never worked better. Cadel was huge, and you have to take your hat off to Voekler. How many of us thought he'd be gone by now? (raises hand)

Can't wait for tomorrow.

Great stage, great racing, great climb choices. I wonder if Frank will go off the front tomorrow and Andy hang back forcing the play onto Evans. Another high finish could mean another awesome stage. Cav got 20 points culled from his green jersey lead because he finished outside of the time limit, if he does it again tomorrow then it could be setup for a photo finish on the champs.

To be fair I think Saxobank are in a strong position at the moment, as either Frank or Andy could win. It does seem a three man fight now between them and Cadel. Voekler has been great hanging in as long as he has but I can't see him holding on tomorrow, and he isn't a great time triallist. Contador is gone, and Basso doesn't seem to have much either.
