Played really well here (first game?) in 2020/21 season which set the tone for the season and a great run of games thereafter.

Played awful here 21/22 season which set the tone for the remainder of the season too and a change in approach from Lampard the ideologue to Lampard the pragamatist.

Think Spurs away is quite a good barometer for us. This year teams have shown that if you boss their two-man midfield you can pin them back and cause them trouble. For that reason expect Iwobi Gana and Onana to start and us to have a decent amount of possession and control. They are hard to break down through the middle but crosses from wide and deep could be fruitful. Think Onana will be key, his late runs into the box will be disruptive. But their forward line is mustard and they are lethal on the transition. Calling it a draw. 1-1 or 2-2.

Alternatively we could nick it or we could also lose.

Cheers

Absolutely will not happen.

Absolutely can't stand Spurs btw, second only to the RS.

I'd swap places with them any day but the fact they haven't won anything with that front-line is hilarious.

I'm not saying we'll dominate.

Think we're around mid-table for avg. possession this year, Spurs are up there. But we've improved massively last few games since Gana has come in. Had v little against United but three man midfield of Casemiro Eriksen and Fernandes was always going to outclass ours.

Think Spurs will have more of the ball but mainly at the back and in wide areas, but don't think it will be backs to the wall stuff from us and we'll have our spells.

I wouldn't be surprised if we rest Kane, He looked exhausted mid week, and took the worst penalty you'll ever see.

Richy has gone off the boil compared to his start, so wouldn't be surprised if he gets put in the Kane role with Son. Looking forward to what he can do there. We have been hampered by Kane's success as he becomes undroppable, which sniffles other combination. I think we will nick it, but wouldn't be surprised with a draw.

I took that to mean that, as an individual, his role at Everton was different to his role at Spurs; at Everton he needed to be on the pitch every game for us to survive, whereas he can be rested/rotated at Spurs.

Foreign managers can be imprecise in their use of words.
Maybe. I'm just always very suspicious of any of these sorts of comments. Never let anyone belittling your club get away with it.

Expected defeat. Think we’ll lose by a couple 2-0/3-1. As long as there are signs of life and we give it a right good go and don’t just roll over. We’re just not at the level yet to really trouble these.
