To be fair, the govt's economic policy hasn't worked and it is similar to what Thatcher tried to do. Reduce govt spending and consumption and rely on private sector investment and exports to fuel the recovery of the economy. The private sector investment just hasn't happened. Why would we see an increase in investment by firms if there is spare capacity and unemployment in the economy, anyway?

The economy was fuelled by people borrowing too much. Surely therefore it stands to reason that if people stop borrowing too much that the economy won't be as big? That doesn't mean it isn't healthier. It's bad enough as it is that there has been so much quantitative easing, thus both eroding the savings of people yet further and saddling future generations with the debt.

I am confident David is steering our glorious conservative nation in the right direction. We of course need to make a few budget cuts in the north west to make this happen, and we rich southerners thank you all for your sacrifice.
I happen to love the south, the more money for people living down there, the better. The north is a wasteland.

Cameron: how desperate does this feller have to be to drag out again the story of his lad who died to underline how 'caring' the Tories are?

I find it it very creepy and distasteful he uses this for political capital.

Thats how desperate he is , lower than vermin.

I think you may be walking a tightrope there....however if the glorious conservative government wants to wipe out the north, why should Liverpool be spared?

But it doesnt.

I thought Camerons speech was well written, but his delivery was all over the place.
Very different to the man who before the election did a brillaint 1 hour speech of the cuff.
Interesting.

He's been to the well once too often with that story. Of course he's genuine in his sentiment for his son, but what sort of judgement does it show about a man who'll continue to use that memory in that manner to shore up a flagging government's reputation? God knows what his wife must think.

Gidot's Speech reminded me of this!

Glad it's over. I have not watched any of it. Couldn't stomach seeing Gideon telling us everything is ok when it's not. Boris Johnson acting like a cuddly kangaroo when he is actually a snake and everything about him is fake and finally swamy Cameron.

One good thing about Boris in his London mayor role is he is not fake, which is ofen why he goes against government policy in the best interest of London.
But dont let the facts get in the way of blind prejudice.

Now Osborne, i give you that one.
