Yarmolenko in that QF game. That was a beauty.
Three great goal there Dario. The Gates goal - I remember almost the whole crowd applauded it, Paul mariner said he couldn't imagine any other crowd doing that. I remember the Catt raving about the brilliance of Clyde Best's goal.Us Blues are generally a fair minded know our football shower I think, what’s yours,I’ll give you mine!!!!
all mine were at Goodison too
1:Lou Macari for Man Utd(similar to the Garnacho goal a couple of years back but in my minds eye better!!!)December 1975,proper overhead kick right on the corner of 18 yard box bullens road side up at the park end, ball flew into the top left hand corner main stand side!!
2:Eric Gates for Ipswich 1980,they were likened to the magnificent total football Dutch teams and had a couple of maestros in that midfield,an incredible team goal, they had our kecks off!!!final ball to Gates twenty yards out park end a touch then a looping effort into the roof of the net,we lost 4-0 then amazingly pulled out a great performance to knock them out of the cup a few weeks later!!!funny old game
3:Clyde Best for West Ham 1972,very early memory for me,he picked the ball up maybe ten yards inside his own half and showing incredible skill proceeded to slalom his way through our whole team before drawing the keeper at the Street End and slotting a magnificent individual effort.
I honestly think Nicholls was a shot to nothing Mick, always thought Lawson should have got something on itThree great goal there Dario. Someone else mentioned Viv Anderson's ridiculously brilliant goal in the League cup. We were one up, should have been more. Micky Walsh messed up a one on one with Shilton just a few minutes before, then Forest scored 3 in 15 minutes to win the game, showing the ruthlessness that made them European Champions while we, who weren't far behind them, won nothing.
I could mention Chris Nicholl's one in the League Cup Final, but it's too painful.
Chris Waddle's goal for Bradford sticks out but we were sh** that day so it was what we deserved.
Generally, though, I tend to eradicate opposition goals from my memory.
My Instagram algorithm now has premier league goals of the month popping up randomly from various years. Haven't seen us feature at all yet and we always seem to be on the receiving end of about half of them.Matt Taylor from the half way line hate watching premier league years always minimum two goal of the season contenders fly In against us
Yes he should have. I always thought it was a once in a lifetime shot from Nicholl until I saw that he'd done it at least once before.I honestly think Nicholls was a shot to nothing Mick, always thought Lawson should have got something on it![]()
Yeah, the Buchan one was an absolute beast of a hit.Yes he should have. I always thought it was a once in a lifetime shot from Nicholl until I saw that he'd done it at least once before.
Talking of once in a lifetime... Martin Buchan's last minute equaliser at Old Trafford early 78/9 season after we'd completely outplayed them. Georgie Wood in goal that day but it flew into the top corner from about as far out as Nicholl's.
