St Domigos

Player Valuation: £500k
Man Utd - FA Cup 6th round 1983 - I was 13 and with my Dad- had tickets in the United Paddock - left promptly when Stapleton scored was spat on and called scouse b'tard ny middle aged women and men.

Milk Cup Final Replay v Liverpool 1984 - Maine Rd - 50k scouse's - bedlam everywhere - all but three windows put through on our coach leaving Moss Side.

Leeds - FA Cup 3rd round 1985 - First away proper with my mates on Eavesway Coaches - blues firing a flare gun - getting bricked from the overpass to where the coach parked - running battles everywhere.

Villa - Milk Cup Semi- Final 1984 - Police escort getting abushed - being next to Villa fans and it going off all around.

Southampton - FA Cup Semi Final 1984 - Full on pitch invasion from the North Bank happily celebrating next minute, full scale riot.

As a neutral I've been to an Old Firm game which was tasty- but the Bristol derby is something else.

Chelsea- Kensington high mate got his ribs broke with a fire extinguisher
West Ham- arriving 10 minutes late and getting chased by the market and a bizzie on duty flashing a hammers badge under his lapel and telling us to run faster
Middlesboro Fa Cup smashed knee cap
Man United- 15 stitches round my eye
Bristol City Fa Cup running battles before and after

Both Manchester away's were always 'interesting'.

I remember that FA cup game away at Plymouth, was it in the 1980's? Running battles before, during, and after.

Derby County, at the old Baseball ground, was horrific at times.

Cardiff City, again in the FA cup, loads of bovver.

Leeds away, you knew what to expect, and you usually got it.

I generally enjoyed all the London away games, as they all seemed more interested in bashing other rivals in the Capital.

Happy Days!, don't you believe it!!!

Boro away, both the midweek replay (Tricky's header from the edge of the box right at the death ;)), and the 3rd round tie a couple of years later. Always carnage there!

Millwall away 88 ish - the first time we went there. Never seen such a mob on the ordinary - hundreds.

Millwall away the following season - 13 of us on the ordinary this time, for a rearranged midweek away game. A few more met up in the Crown as arranged but swerved it, leaving us ridiculously low in number. Soon as we got out the station down there it went off. Moody as %#*! before and after, and I was made up to get back to the safety of Euston for the overnighter back (I remember us seeing Cyril Smith MP wobbling down the platform for that train back!).

City away about 94 - last day of the season, the infamous Dry Bar/Piccadilly Gardens episode.

Barnsley away, cup tie 89 ish. Chaos after the match with big groks coming T you from all angles. One loon came out of a garden/alleyway dressed in a minty old white vest and legged us with a wooden coat hanger in his hand!

Honourable mentions to to each of the Tranmeree pre-season away games in the mid-late 80s. They always seemed to be a Friday night, and always mental.

Ahh West Ham got legged all the way through Palistow after our four niller

Barnsley FA Cup 1989- I ended up on the pitch talking to Southall due to the crushing on the terraces...Lucky for us we forced open a perimeter gate and spilled out, this only months before Hillsborough. Sharp winner and like you said the whole town turned out to confront us

Heard the Maine road cup Derby described as "like a scene from Zulu" when the locals came out to play, such was the vibrancy of Moss side.

Stoke in the late 70s early 80s, running battles back to the stn. Leeds was always scary. Was in their stand one year when Peter Eastoe scored, I jumped up, promptly disallowed and all I heard was' we know where your hiding' - squeaky bum time.

Leeds away. Very intimidating. Man u away. Fine at the ground. The pubs were very moody. Saw a guy get point blank glassed. Very disturbing.

United away circa 1991......Ryan Giggs came on for his debut as sub.

We won 2-0 through a couple of Tony Cottee goals and afterwards we were escorted by Plod to trains at Warwick Road.

As the train stood at the platform there was a shower of missiles....barely a window left in our carriage :(

Where to start!

Any away game at WHU, Millwall or CFC back in the 70s to early 80s was always very very lively. We had the upper hand over AFC for many years until they got their act together in the mid-eighties but the correct order of things was reestablished in the 90s.

Wall away for a testimonial in 2001 was bedlam all day. Went on for ages afterwards as Spurs made after hours incursions into enemy territory.

West Ham away in the late 70s when 150 Spurs (rough estimate) thought it would be a good idea to try and take the North Bank. I've had better days.

Luckily I was too young to be involved when Spurs tried to take the Roker in the 70s. Didn't end well.

I could go on but won't bore you.
