All no doubt true. Although bad injuries can affect some players longer than others, and he had a bad one IIRC...and just as he was threatening to make a breakthrough. I can only say that from what I've seen of him he is clearly a talent. First touch is superb and he knows where the ball's going next before he receives it. Those are the qualities you look for.
I haven't seen Kenny or Walsh so cant comment.
He came back after that injury last year and had an excellent second half to the season. You can actually see the growth in the lad and I can understand why this would affect his form this season. I remember Gerrard having similar problems when he was 20ish.
You're spot on though Dave. His touch and awareness is exceptional. Got a great dead ball on him too. Everything we're missing at the moment in the first team. Puts a shift in too. My main concern is that he is too often on the periphery in games and doesn't influence them as he should. This has stood out on the few occasions I've seen him at senior level. He's still only 19 though. Maybe a loan will benefit him but it needs to be to the right sort of team. Maybe Barnsley.
Walsh is a proper footballer. He may be small in stature but he's not scared to put his foot in and I reckon he could hold his own, and would love to see him given an opportunity in the first team. He trains with the first team so is obviously in Koemans mind.
