i would not be surprised if cleverley is allowed the newcastle move now.Must've solidified himself in the manager's plans today. Certainly ahead of Cleverley now, and I'd have him ahead of Barry and first choice but he's at worst 3rd choice.

Did I?
Bench him immediately next game for the greatest midfielder of all time Gareth Barry.
Thought it was you, apologies if it wasn't. It was deffo someone, they know who they are...
Thought Davies looked great tbh. I have a guilty until proven innocent attitude with the young lads because of our tendency to overhype players, but this little fella looks the business
Not so sure tbh. This lad is different to Holgate, Galloway, Garbutt etc. it's clear as day. He'll be a first teamer before the season is out
He's not wrong. We have a very good midfield, Davies is a real option and Schneiderlin moves him down the pecking order.
Because he's a young lad and needs to be eased into the team? He'll be a starter before the year is out
I know it is a different level but in April 2015 he played full games for England youth in Europe on Mon & Thurs (think as captain) , flew on the Friday to join Everton in the Dallas cup when he then played on the Sunday, Monday and Wednesday ie 5 games in 9 days which is fantastic stamina for a 16 year old.Looks to have a good engine, still giving it all even at the end trying to get back in when about 4 of them got rinsed by 1 lad. Impresses me that he doesn't seem to have gears he can go through but is able to continually go at the same pace whether its the 1st minute or 90th.
It's easy to forget this lad is 18 years old and just looked comfortable in a game against a mid table team even late on in to the match, showed great awareness and composure to get himself the assist for Lukaku but what impressed me even more was how at the end when Funes Mori went forward out of everyone on the pitch including Barry it was Davies who slotted in to cover the open position.
Massively positive start to his career and hopefully from here he keeps progressing to the next level, signs in that game that he finished the game stronger suggest he's certainly got more to come in the future.
He does hold them a little too much, something that might see him collect a few cards but as a midfielder it tends to go with the territory.Excellent I thought. (Only saw the second half which has skewed my view of the game as a whole!).
I love the way he challenges people. He's literally all over them. But doesn't foul.
He makes Cleverley look like a Darts player
i would not be surprised if cleverley is allowed the newcastle move now.
you would think there would be a team struggling who would take him, his wage is apparently quite high too. He doesn't fit the way we play and does need to move on for him and us like. He'd still go missing somehow.
I want him gone permanently Aaron, surely there's someone who'll give us a few mil to make it permanent.
