Tom Cleverley

I don't disagree, but do you think he'll be happy to just be in the squad and get the odd game in cup matches or when injuries hit the first choice players ?

Under Martinez, if fit, he was pretty much guaranteed a place, under Koeman, he'll be on the bench. He came here for first team football so I can't see him sticking around if he's not getting it.

That's another issue altogether I think. I'm merely saying he doesn't deserve to be scapegoated. If he moves on I won't cry like.

Again, I agree with RFUS and is lovely hat

If Clev leaves then I won't be sad, but I equally wouldn't be sad to see him stay as a squad player

It's up to him to choose what he wants from his career. We can plug Davies in just fine if Clev left tomorrow

I'm just sticking up for a player who doesn't deserve the level of pure raw hatred he receives from a bunch of people who should know better

Except he didn't.

As anyone who has a basic understanding of football could see last night. Cracking non-tackle for the second goal, too.

I have a thorough understanding of football, from a practical and observational point of view and Cleverley is a tidy and useful footballer whom I'd currently prefer to play along-side than a Barkley or a Deulofeu, hell these two can't even be bothered to get into the general vicinity to not make a tackle.

Watch the goal again mate, he's been legitimately done by the momentum of a player marauding through our penalty area (which can happen to anyone), any further attempt to make a tackle is going to 100% result in a dive.

Getting praised for completing 5 yard sideways passes, that's exactly why players like him still play for Everton. We could have just kept Rodwell on to do that couldn't we? We have such a small time mentality and mediocre standards.
When he played for England and Utd the big complaints were he was a crab footballer who neither tackled or created so what exactly does he do.

I hate to say it but that pretty much sums him up. He's not awful just a totally meh footballer.
