sorry mate you are wrong:-nah. Only foreign clubs. Domestic Clubs aren't technically allowed to speak to a player re: contract until a month before expiry, i.e May
Jinkyali is 'sourced' or claims to be. Fairly bold claim of coming out this early and saying it but if it does happen, then I appreciate the info. But where did you guys get this rumour from? I can't find it anywhere.
Did you just quote wikipedia at me mate?sorry mate you are wrong:-
Free transfer (association football)
How it works
The club acquiring the player does not have to pay any compensation for their release due to having nothing left to pay on their contract, hence, the term free transfer. Some individual leagues have restrictions to protect academies. For example, in the UK, players under 24 who are out of contract are only available on a free transfer if released by the club holding the players' licence.
Another type of free transfer is when a player is transferred from one club to another for no price, sometimes a transfer for a nominal fee is credited as a free transfer.
With six months or less remaining on an existing contract for players aged 23 or older, they are free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement, indicating their ability to move to their intended club on a Bosman transfer once the next transfer window opens.
wrong he can sign pre-contract in January
you are correct mate, I should have known rules for the rest of the world do not apply to us.Did you just quote wikipedia at me mate?
I wish I had the football regulations at hand, but it is common knowledge that footballers playing for an English club on a contract that is expiring can only be approached by another English club to sign a precontract one month prior to the end of that contract. Anything prior to this is unlawful and prosecutions for tapping up can and will occur. However, foreign clubs can approach the player to sign within the designated 6 months.
This is the case.
Surely Cleverly will be cover for Barkley and Naismith, maybe even Pienaar, on the left, rather than in central midfield with the likes of McCarthy. LAM and CAM have been his best positions under Martinez.
