TBH mate i don't even think it's stubborn. It was a bad buy in the first place but if you're playing a certain way then you need the players who will fit that system. Same reason why i wouldn't expect Arsenal to buy a player like Carroll.

Carroll is a decent player in the right team but he's nothing special.

I disagree - the "he doesnt fit their play style" argument stems from the failure of KKK to actually play any wingers when he was in the side, and because Brendan wants to win the passing rather than football games.

Had Rodgers actually decided to develop a style based on the players they had at the club and planned his spending around that - which would have meant Coutinho and another wide player but no Assaidi, Borini and a couple of the other jokes over there - they would be a much better team, and would have a better record than they do.
