If they get Champions League don't see why this couldn't happen.

Really don't see why Gotze would go from the second best team in the most up and coming league who are CL semi finalists to go to a side who haven't won a trophy in 8 years and aren't even a certainty to get into the Champions League anymore.

It's not like they'll pay him mega wages.

I think if the board said, "Spend this money or leave", He might actually decide to leave

On one hand, he's financially prudent. On the other hand, I think the main reason he's never spent big on a player is because he's too afraid that he'll bodge it up

I reckon he gets a bonus for not spending....

Still the biggest league in the world, for a young player money can be tempting, they could offer him a lot of money. And I did say if they got into the Champions League.

If they bought Gotze and a few other quality players they would be right up there.

Arsenal are still a big club, definitely as big as Dortmund are.

I know you said if they get into the Champions League. Even if they get in this year they're not guaranteed to do so consistently in the long term. Spurs are a Gareth Bale £60m sale away from being a top 4 team regularly, and City/Chelsea/United are all up there.

I don't buy that he'd give up Dortmund for the Prem with no guarantee of Champions League football every year.
