lol, i've bought everton tickets from other members here several times... bad kopite that i am.

i actually said i thought the first half we were solid despite being the poorer side. Second half i wasn't at all impressed with so yes i posted some critical comments just like the majority of people in that thread did.
The majority of the posts in any match thread are negative. Including mine. Its a place to fume and vent as the game goes on.

As for the derby. We controlled large parts of the game and while they created the best chances we created the best opportunities for chances except our final ball and quality kept letting us down. That comes down to the players not the manager. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Yeah yeah you spent the entire derby cryarsing over every single thing Martinez did!

C'mon now Don, this place gets unbelievably touchy when that lot get a result. Rodgers, for all the complete pipe he talks, is getting results and he can assume a fair proportion of the credit for that.

They are absolute muck at the back. I don't understand why players don't just press Sakho, he'll give you the ball all day, but he has their forwards playing some decent football which was made to look far more swashbuckling by some awful Spurs defending tonight. Spurs got everything they deserved by leaving Danny Rose at left back when it was clear he was being skinned alive every time Ibe or anyone else ran at him.

I'm more concerned about them winning one of the cups to be honest. The FA Cup in particular. It's written in the stars as LFC TV would put it. Or written in Steven Gerrard's wishlist to the FA for his final season.

I thought it was written in the stars they would be crowned champions last May :(

We also don't know what control Brenda has over the transfers. The difference between him and Martinez is that Martinez is in control over the whole club and personally I think that will make the difference and be our big advantage over them but it may take a few seasons to materialize.

In the meantime we just have to be practical.
True, the gossip seemed to be that Rodgers didn't want Balotelli but he did want Lallana and Lovren, the latter in particular has been very mixed. S'ton seem to have got it right with their transfer committee but Liverpool don't seem to have had the same type of success, or Man Utd for that matter.

Generally happier to have the manager take full responsibility for transfers but then that can cause problems if you constantly change the manager.

Again Ibe is a very good player. He tore Oviedo a new one and now Rose who are both good fullbacks. Sometimes it's not necessarily the defender's fault and you just have to give credit to the attacker.

I said after the Liverpool game after seeing him in the flesh that he was Sterling mark 2. I think he could be better than Sterling now. He doesn't quite have the close control that Sterling has but he's got a far more powerful shot. Sterling has always been a bit powder puff for my liking.

I only watched the first half but as far as I could see practically every RS attack came courtesy of a Sours player gifting them the ball.

And that first goal was reminiscent of Howard at his worst this season.

Which we don't. The benign dictator is always the best form of government as long as you get the right man.

He's very direct and he looks pretty good, but I think the two left backs he has played against have flattered him a little bit. Oviedo eventually got to grips with him and I think he'll face far sterner tests in the Premier League. As you say though, early signs are good, don't think we can assess him too accurately on the back of those two games.

Yeah, there was some very incisive passing from Spurs to set up Sturridge and Markovic. Lamela was hopeless and, I keep saying it, but Rose was an absolute disaster waiting to happen. Could not do a thing right. I don't watch Spurs too often, but based on tonight I'd have Vertonghen out there where he is supposed to be and stick whoever they have left in at centre back.

Liverpool are crap
Still miles better than us, though. Look at the league table, they've had a woeful year and are still miles ahead of us. In fact, I think we won't even get the points they are on now, even after 38 games. I think we'll scrape home with 40/41 points. We've won 6 from 24, so what turn of events is going to mean we'll win another 5 or 6 games? Sad times.

He was pretty awesome the first game I watched him play too. I don't know. I understand what you are saying about it might be too early but sometimes you can just tell.
