I don't put the boot into him that much, i don't even post in the everton forum much apart from match day threads... there are far more critical posters than myself.

I think you're all being a touch over dramatic tbh, almost rawk like response from some posters.
Yeah yeah you spent the entire derby cryarsing over every single thing Martinez did!

You'd know mate, what with being a registered member on there and all

lol, i've bought everton tickets from other members here several times... bad kopite that i am.

i actually said i thought the first half we were solid despite being the poorer side. Second half i wasn't at all impressed with so yes i posted some critical comments just like the majority of people in that thread did.

Why does it have to be either he is brilliant or awful?

Imo Rodgers has his strengths (tactical flexibility, trust in youth, generally attacking style of play) but also some quite bad weaknesses (overspending on signings, arrogance that can turn players/press against him, poor defensive record) but having a large budget helps mask some of the flaws.
Coutinho is the only inspired signing he's made in three years after spending £300M.

He's closer to the exit door than he is to getting his hands on a trophy.

FSG won't stand for no CL footy, and the no mark isnt giving it to them this season.

of course it matters, they basically sold all of last seasons star players !

why do you think all articles reference net spend ? because its far more relevant.
They got way over the odds on some overrated players and spent big on better players. The point you were making was they never spent much, fair enough they never had much net spend but they still brought in 60 mils worth of new talent to there squad so of course theyre gonna be up there

Think it might be a bit closer than I'd like - Arsenal seem to have entered their annual " feck up February" period, LVG is still experimenting like a mad scientist and Spurs are...well Spurs.

No one expected southampton to be third in the league at this stage of the season.

Spending 60m after selling proven players doesn't guarantee anything.

They've done exceptionally well.

They have, we did it last year.

It is like a young player bursting onto the scene who gains a lot of confidence and people don't quite know how to play. As Barkley (and the team as a whole) are finding out this season those runs don't last, you need to continuously find new ways of getting an edge by improving both your weakness/strengths and riding out the patches of bad form.

Great post...spot on

They lost one of the best players in the world and there top striker. Its safe to say them two must of scored 90% of their goals last year And they are still challenging on two fronts and for a champions league place. I hope you're right and he does get sacked because I'm starting to get bad vibes about brentie as I don't think he's the bluffer some would have us believe.
Brenda is a good manager but so is Martinez.

The difference is that Liverpool will demand more otherwise he'll get sacked.

We also don't know what control Brenda has over the transfers. The difference between him and Martinez is that Martinez is in control over the whole club and personally I think that will make the difference and be our big advantage over them but it may take a few seasons to materialize.

In the meantime we just have to be practical.
