Absurd that in Europe's top competition you can get beaten three times but as long as you win two home games and get a draw away at the weakest team you can still go through, absolutely ridiculous. Every tie Liverpool get a bad result in this group their chances of qualifying have increased, bizarre.

It's an automatic qualification for any Prem side in the Champs League when you get a draw like that. Even Newcastle or Villa would grab 2nd in that group.

The very fact this is going down to the last game is utterly garbage from Liverpool's perspective.

Kind of dilutes the term "Champions League" when the top 2 in groups that contain the 3rd/4th best teams in various leagues get through. Liverpool have an easier group in the CL than we have in the Europa league. Of course Madrid are immense but they've had a much easier shot at finishing 2nd and have somehow ballsed it up almost every week. Though of course they will scrape through.

Liverpool needed to win tonight and have Madrid do them a favour whittling down Basel's GD advantage. Basel have two bites at this cherry and liverpool have one.

draw makes no difference from a win, but it is a bit absurd how out of 5 games, they've lost 3 games without scoring and flukely won via a last min pen vs possibly the lowest ranked team in the competition?

it's set up for a last min win, but they're so so terrible.
