So why the excitement from some at English team failure

From a personal perspective, I'm fed up of being told how great these sides are, and that its 'the greatest league in the world'. When the fact is, this is an awful year for the English league. Real lack of genuine quality, so watching sides actually play football and getting results feels like a win for football.
