Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

Barcelona got picked to pieces earlier, deserved to be 2-0 down, big deflection aside, how they rescued a 2-4 win out of that was stupendous.

They've some great players, but a lot of sides would have anti-footballed 'em from there. Considering simeone's past and penchant for foul play, it boggles the mind that he didn't rotate a few yellow cards through subs to quieten the game down.

Leicester haven’t scored a goal at home in FOUR MONTHS.

They must be financially dead to not sack him, they are horrendous.
That's actually crazy that they have not scored in their last 7 home league games and I thought we were bad at not scoring under Dyche. They have not scored in any of their last 6 league games home and away either

4-0, 2-0, 4-0, 2-0, 1-0, 3-0.

That directly after a fantastic 2-1 win over Spurs which could have kickstarted their bid for survival.

If Ruud isn't sacked today as a last, desperate throw of the dice, they've accepted their inevitable relegation. Probably the latter.

They proper Everton'd that contract - 2.5 years

Tbf there's no point unless they have a manager ready they feel can bring them back up next season. Probably stick will RVN and let him have another season.

It was a running gag on here, but they should have gone with Dyche

Even if he hadn’t kept them up, he would have brought them back

RVN will likely bring them back too to be honest - they're a lot better than a majority of the Championship and he tends to do well in those situations imo.

I think that might've been their thinking - either survive and build on, or get relegated and build from there. He has upside as a manager (imho), and maybe placing trust in him improving next year rather than Dyche stop gapping for two years is better in the long run?

I would say they have indeed accepted relegation and aren’t that concerned about it.

They will get the PL money for this season, the parachute payment for going down and will be the favourites to bounce straight back.

Which they probably will.

And as for the fans of Foxes and others like Saints, Leeds, Burnley and Sheffield United they are happy too.

One great season in the Championship followed by a tough year in the PL being rinsed and repeated is all right by them.
