So a Milan team is guaranteed to be in the champions league final now, can’t see inter bottling a 2-0 lead whilst playing at home today

How we feel about this?

If AC Milan reach the final we could be seeing a 36 year old giroud and 41 year old zlatan ibrahimovic feature, surely last time these guys will have to win the champions league in their careers. Giroud would pick up his second champions league win and this would be Zlatans final chance to win the champions league, a trophy which has eluded him throughout his career. Also our nemesis divock origi could pick up his second champions league winners medal.

On the other hand if inter Milan reach the final our good ol friend lukaku could win his first champions league and 37 year old Edin Dzeko could also feature and win his first champions league.

Realistically though it’s either Madrid or city winning it this year

Made me laugh that after 3 paragraphs talking about Milans chances you ended with writing them both off in a sentence. Haha 😂

I see Yeovil Town were relegated to the National League South last night.

So both they and Scunthorpe appeared in the Championship less than a decade ago, now fall as low as the 6th tier.

Crazy how things can just swing like that.
Add Stockport to that list as well.

They're mounting the comeback though.

Stockport got back to league one and imploded.

Good for them for coming back.

Others have struggled too, York dropped to the NLN, Torquay reached league one and about to drop to the NLS for the second time.

Scunthorpe are my local club nowadays and the way they've been run into the ground by the (now ex) chairman Swann is absolutely criminal.

They had unpaid tax bills, unpaid wages and he even gifted the stadium to himself, all while he was fighting a court case against a betting company that he owed £3m (yes, million!) in lost bets.

Incidentally the time period he placed all these bad bets, Ivan Toney was also on loan at the club. I'm not suggesting a connection, to be clear.

I wonder where Everton will be by the turn of the next decade?

Don’t think we’ll topple quite as far, but if we drop anything could happen!

See Bolton, Blackpool, Coventry and Portsmouth who toppled all the way to League Two.

Don’t for a second think we will stumble that far, but scary the thought of what could happen if we go down.

If we went down just through being crap because of manager recruitment then I would say we won’t topple that far, BUT this club is in a right mess from board room to ball boy.

The quality of players at this club their wages should 30-50k a week tops! We have 5-6 players on over 100k, this club is considering giving Iwobi a new club contract??
We’ve just handed over 15 mil for Maupayand 25mil for McNeil!!

Our biggest problems are off the pitch

The dream is nearly over for Barrow, hopefully we can continue this sharp rise and it not be a one off. A young hungry manager, a good base of committed players, getting better and better off the field. It actually feels, for the first time in three years, that we are a league club.

For it to still be mathematically possible to reach the play offs with 3 games to go is an amazing achievement by all at the club. The previous 2 seasons were very draining (especially with Everton's woes, there was one period where neither Barrow or Everton won for a combined 16 games and I watched around 12 of them), but this season, has been very much relief that at least one of my teams is doing better than OK.

Maybe one day I can have my cake and eat it with both teams doing well at the same time :)

That mid-season blip we had really stings. Was coming out of the house last Monday and heard a huge roar from the Crawley goals going in.

Yeah, we let a few games slip away. What gives me hope that this can continue is the way we bounced back from set backs. There was never any lack of effort in games, just sometimes we were not good enough on the day or the opposition were simply better than us.

Cumbrian derby should still be tasty, technically something to play for and Carlisle still have a small chance of automatic promotion but also have a fear of dropping out of the play off places, their form has dropped in the last month.
