The Holy Trinity

Player Valuation: £10m
To alleviate a bit of the boredom of End of Season / Pre Season I thought I'd post some Ratings on Our players and gauge everyone's opinion. I'm gonna do a few so feel free to post and we'll get an idea as to how the majority actually view our players.

Tim Howard..

In my opinion one of the top 5 goalkeepers in the Premier League (Sorry LCAB). Tim has done really well for us since signing from the Mancs and although at times he's made mistakes (I still haven't forgiven him fully for Lampard's winner in the Cup Final) I generally feel he's a decent enough keeper to help us climb further up the league.

Other areas he could improve on is his commanding of the penalty area. He should come for more crosses as at times and give the defence the confidence it needs in him !

THT Rating 7 / 10

Phil Neville

I'm going to put our Captain in at Right Back because I still reckon Moysie will play him there if he is fit. Nev for me has been a great signing and not one I was particularly impressed with at the time but he has proved that he's a quality player and captain. That said I'm not saying we can't do better but just think he always does a job wherever we ask him to play and whenever he speaks about US in the media is first class. Think he might be pushed hard this season by Seamus Coleman though.

THT Rating 6.5 / 10

Leighton Baines

Leighton will be my final rating for this opening thread then will do three more tomorrow and so on. Leighton for me after Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra is the BEST left back in the Premier League. I'm not saying he's miles behind them but he's in the top 3. He's been fabulous this season and was my player of the year. He's quality on the ball , got good pace and has a fabulous left foot. And oh yeah he's a massive BLUE !! He'll bounce back from Capello's ridiculous decision and be even better next season.

THT Rating 9 / 10

That will do for starters....(y)

Agree on Baines and Neville, Howard is underrated in my eyes though. Said it time and time again, we won't get a better keeper than him at Everton. Definitiely in my top five of PL keepers. 8-8.5/10 for me.

Howard - Love the guy, sure he has his errors (long shots particularly) but I have every confidence in him every time he plays, one of my favourite players out of the current squad, a great buy.

Neville - He will tell you himself that he is not the most accomplished player, every once in a while i hold my head in shame he is that bad, but **** did we miss this guy when he was out injured. He's like Moyes on the pitch, just knows how to get the right attitude across, could definitely see him replacing Steve Round at some point, without a doubt.

Baines - World Class, through and through. That is all.

Nice idea THT. Got to say that I agree with those first three ratings. If Coleman can progress as we imagine he will, with Bainsy on the left and him on the right, we will have two very fast, very attack minded full backs on our hands that will bring an amazing balance to our attacks. The futures bright, the futures blue!(y)

Yeah Dutch maybe my rating is a bit harsh given I'd just said he was in the top 5 keepers !!! (Smacks own head) Maybe 7.5 / 10 ?

Agreed mate on all points..

Hi Bluebab, don't think we've been formally introduced so pleased to meet you (LCAB has also bigged you up !!!). Yeah agreed Coleman would give us a similar quality to Baines. What we are really looking for is to re-create our left side on the right (if that makes sense ?).

I'll settle on a 8/10 for him mate. Anyone doubting him, who would you (realistically) see as an improvement on him?

Okay Dutch 7-75 / 10 last offer !!! Yeah difficult to say who'd replace him although I like Joe Hart. I'm hoping that Jan Mucha pushes Howard a bit more than Wessells and Nash have done and that will give him that extra edge. My theory anyway....
