I’ll see if I can dig the video out as I saw it somewhere the other day, I took it as less worst footballer / least skillful, as worst teammate in a semi joking way. Basically along the lines of he was a nightmare.
No specific memories of him, just a general memory of him being a bit of a headless chicken who turned into a world beater for 6 months and got a mad transfer out of it.

Watching that, you can see why he's got a bit of cult status here and why, on the other hand, we need to turn over a few new leaves in the garden.

First few seasons he was alright in poor Smith teams.
Choice of partner was an issue as John Collins and Dacourt had quickly left and then Nyarko turned up. Was Linderoth a CM? The Chinese lad was o.k for a year.
Then Carsley was signed as usual bargain basement genius Moyes deal and it worked brilliantly for six months. Even then Real Madrid coming in for him was completely wild. Would be like them signing Gana a few years ago.
Have little recollection of his second spell but the 2007 team was far better from a footballing point of view centrally so no surprise he didn't make much impact as he'd flopped at Celtic the year before.
I'm fairly sure I got a book on his random career and post retirement curriculum activities so will see if I can dig it out and share some gems in this thread over the weekend.

Remember his dodgy barnet when he first arrived and thinking that will last about 2 weeks before its shaved off!
