Bilyaletdinov - 8.9 million
Sylvain Distin - 5.3 million

John Heitinga? - 5.7 million

But he's not in. If wages are a problem then that just underlines Moyes' point on underinvestment. His job: identify players. The board's job: cough up the money for them.

Or not.

Maybe he doesn't want to upset the other players in the squad on salary.

You start paying Heitinga more than 50k a week, then you end up having to pay Pienaar more, Yak, Arteta, Yobo, etc....

I was just giving you the prices Davek. Even if we sign Heitinga I wouldn't say that's enough. We still need a midfielder in, that is very clear.

Basically, I agree with you.

But all parties will have known what this player does or doesn't get per week. And let's face it, beyond doing the simple maths of subtracting wages as a % of turnover for the whole club we have really no idea who earns what at Everton.

Well we know that there is a structure in place. We know we don't pay our players massively high wages, we also know that the Heitinga deal is down to terms, and a figure of around 50k a week has been mentioned as not enough.

So logic will tell you that we don't want to upset the apple cart, and why should we.

Our players with the exception of one are happy to play for the club. They may not be so happy if some Johnny new player comes in with high demands.

It's all about getting value, and Moyes doesn't want to be stung again by what happened with VDM.

I´m happy as long as we don´t do a Leeds ( overpay wages for players that is not worth it ). Or a N´castle. Or Southhampton. Pompey. Etc. I rather stay with the players we have and some more young talent then get is in a stupid debt once again. Or do we want to start in Leauge II as some other one has been forced to do??

It's all conjecture. Are you under the impression that all Everton first teamers will be on exactly the same weekly wage? They might be because we have no data to draw, but I doubt it. It's not logical to think camaraderie will be affected with some players earning more than others. It's not a commune, it's professional football. We probably do have a ceiling on wages but none of us know what it is.

Its all well and good saying that we didnt have any money at this window. Last year we sold AJH and raised some funds.

This year we sold JL.

Who;s next year is what worries me ?

Arteta
Rodwell
Jags

All worth £15 mill in current climate.

i already have massive question marks over how this club is run , but if all we spend is the lescott money then huge questions have to asked about the loan we took out a week or so ago aswell as the credibility of sounds bites the club has made regarding bids and transfers before the lescott move.

1) why was the loan taken out if it wasnt for transfers ?
2) if all we spend is the lescott money then will we be paying unessasary interest on a loan we didnt need or use ?
3) how much would the club have spent without the lescott deal ?

answers on a postcard to ......... p. green - courtesy of r. earl and bcr sports - british virgin islands tax haven.

Dont your going to get everyone mad . We won yesterday lets just enjoy it like .

I had a dream last night that we signed Johnny, completed the Banega loan and then swooped at the 11th hour for Moutinho. Just off down the launderette....

This isn't a court of law mate, we have all heard noises from different camps on how much people are earning etc....

Have you noticed that major contracts are signed in a group from time to time. That means that parity is required to keep everyone happy, so all I am saying is Moyes is aware of this parity as are the board and they don't want to go taking a risk of disrupting that.

Even though we don't know figures, we do know the situation, it's fairly obvious.

yes lets just enjoy the win! I dont want to do a leeds but if we dont take the odd risk we will get left behind by the likes of Spurs, City,Villa and the likes. We cant even sustain top 5 never mind progress if we dont take a gamble.
