2025/26 Thierno Barry

I do think there's an element of Moyes trying to give him tough love but his comments in the presser after the game were very telling. Despite the goal, and some fans raving over recent performances, he's certainly not happy with the lad.

…..Moyes saying it as it is;

"It's huge for him, and it was coming - it was certainly due," Moyes told BBC Match of the Day.

"He's got to score, when you're playing centre-forward, otherwise we will find someone to replace him."
That's what Pep said to Haaland! Knock us some goals in as your playing centre forward otherwise your off! So he did! 😄

I really worry about that shoulder dislocating though and how thats been happening during innocuous challenges. That's going to need looking at.
Looks to me like he's playing through an injury. In fairness to him if it's a minor niggle vs finally starting for Everton and scoring goals... you're not gonna to choose to sit on the bench even longer!!

The stumble he had after the altercation before falling to the ground was worrying, I thought he'd passed out at first. Hopefully it's nothing serious or a long term issue.

Man... I was in the South Stand near the bottom and that goal celebration was something else. Emotional stuff. Fair play to Tarkers for grabbing Barry and turning him round to face the fans who were cheering him. Love the bow and arrow celebration - hope we see more of that.

Long way to go with this lad, still a lot of improvements to make. A lot of strikers are pretty lazy and just get really good balls to them hence they score loads. Barry is far from lazy but it's going to be the case of him being by the goal and having players trusting enough to pass to him. Absolute sportsmanship from Ndiaye giving away his own chance to score so Barry could.

Better than Delap’s by all accounts.
Barry hasn’t had a dodgy hammy either.

Time will tell who was the best buy but right now at least Barry is fit and able to play games.
Who mentioned kin Delap?
I reckon he hurt his shoulder the other week and again Vs Forest
And I'm not a fan of pain killing injections
Well see on Saturday

Moyes mentioned after the game that he has a history of the shoulder popping out. Not ideal but apparently it dislocated against Fulham so hopefully it is just one of those that pops out and they pop it back in again
Makes sense why he gets bullied most weeks, but if he has history, why on earth did we sign him to play in probably the most physical division in the world.

Yep, if its something Everton knew about in advance its really poor recruitment. It'll need an op, because it's only going to get worse. The most worrying thing is it popped against Fulham when he wasn't even getting tackled and was just running with the ball.

In a guardian article:

Moyes’ hard line extends to the training ground too, where Everton have been working on improving Barry’s strength. “It’s very difficult to train physicality,” the Everton manager said. “You can get the boys to kick them a bit more in training, which they have done. He’s fallen down a lot but we just play on and he’s not getting anything. He’s getting used to it but he’s not there yet.

Bet tarky is loving these extra duties

Let's not get overexcited about Barry's shoulder... I hope Moyes puts his foot down though and says it needs surgery during the off season. He's a young lad with a lot of potential. Richarlison apparently did loads of injections to mask injury pain in our relegation scrap, even refusing a medical - fair play to the lad but he found it hard to find form after that and it's not hard to see why.
