2025/26 Thierno Barry

Still early days.

Who knows?

There's a lot of mitigation for him, we are a tough team for any centre forward but if im honest, if he was here on loan and his transfer fee we paid was optional - i dont think I'd be saying buy him.
I know he was very quiet early part of the season but if we had a player on loan who scored 5 goals in 20 something matches and he was 23 I'd probably be open to picking him up on permanent

Yeah there are days he actually holds up the ball nicely and even completes some solid link up passes, other matches he seems to get overly anxious and stumbles a bit. Other than last match he doesn't typically get that much regular service.
I respect your view, but is he better than any other striker i the league with his hold up play and link ups (other than our other striker..)? Which striker other than Barry would you say «stumbles a bit» in the league? Maybe Woltemode at times.. but that is not a description you would want of your preferred striker.

In my view; hopefully he reaches 10 goals, so that another club with lazy scouting is willing to pay some of the fee we paid last summer.

Of the goals he's scored there have been some nice finishes in there which show some promise. He has had some service and not converted which shows he can get into the right positions and I hope more goals come and his confidence grows.

I can't agree that his game outside the box is anything other than slightly better than Beto. All of the criticisms people level at Beto for hold up play I see with Barry as well.

Posted this yesterday on the Beto thread.

That's great message-board work, thank you.

I always liked Niasse, in spite (because of?) his many failings. He was chaos on feet, a Random Football Outcome Generator, prone to make the opposition succumb out of sheer bewilderment. Or his own side, same thing. Or whatever.

It's wild to see that he scored at roughly the same clip as Lukaku, in his brief, shining moment.

Get Braiden Graham playing instead of this fraud NOW!
Mentioned that earlier in the thread then seen tonight's last gasp equaliser by him tonight i an absolute scorcher of a goal- then nto extra time & a 4- 2 win well done to the under 23s to progress into the next round of the youth cup - not often you see the blues score 4 at the HD stadium ;)
Good luck k in the next round Graham looks to be in the Rooney mould !
