2025/26 Thierno Barry

The young player who is new to the toughest league in the world seems to be settling in after half a season. Can’t imagine anyone was expecting that may happen, I for one have been caught by surprise and now feel a tad foolhardy for demanding he fulfills my expectations of a prime Everton striker from his first minute in a royal blue shirt.

I vow to learn from this buddies.
Oh no don't, go back to slating him as he smiled after scoring mate. We don't pay them to show emotions, especially not any kind of joy!

Think he’s got some distance to go in his physicality and effort for that position on his own up top. Nice to see the goals coming and his confidence growing though, that can only be a good thing for Everton.

Beto was also in the middle of a purple patch this time last season so hopefully young Thierno develops into something more sustainable, which it might as he’s younger and seems to be a better footballer than Beto.

Still would like another striker in the squad to call on and to push Barry.

Oh yeah, those great Goodison nights of 0 trophies in 30 years. What an oddly niche memory to remember, fair.

I remember the days of enjoying the match, isnt that what we all go for? Then moaning about a brief moment of actual enjoyment 😂

Come on, please tell me youre on the windup.
Mate no need to be aggressive. No one wants to hang the kid. What I mean is he may not be aware of this club's ambitions yet as he is a recent recruit but Tarkowski should have gone near him and politely taken him back to our half, you can celebrate on the way. unlike Coleman our captains are no more aware of what's going on with the match

I like his technique, his last two goals, Beto would have hammered at them and either shot over, wide or at the keeper as a consequence. Barry has the footballing sense ans the technique to dink the ball twice and score with two very difficult chances. Made uo for the lad, the backroom team needs to do a lot of strength work with him, teach him to barge defenders away with his shoulder, his arse etc. Once he gets to grips with the physicality of the prem, I think we will have a very good CF on our hands.

Took his goal really well, again, last night.

His holdup play looked worse than it was because of the lack of support he had when the ball was pinged up to him.

He’s growing into the league, and making great progress where it matters.

I have a theory about why he seems to be underestimated and under appreciated by some - and that’s his comedic running style.

His heels turn out and he looks like he’s not getting anywhere. It’s not at all what you expect a Premier League striker to look like when they are motoring.

Perhaps underestimation by defenders can be his secret weapon.

Similar to his last season, started the season slowly, adapted and ended it with a run of goals that convinced us to drop near 30 mill on him....

I think his laid back approach and lazy (on the eye) running style can be frustrating to watch when we're chasing a game...

Which is wierd as he is deceptively quick...the opposite of mcneil and his idea sprints

Desperately needs an improvement in service and support, often hes chasing alone and when he does win a flick on hes chasing it himself, like dcl used to have to

Main thing is he's technically streets ahead of beto and looks like he can slot when given a chance....

Last night's goal was a combination of a clever run, power and technique....keep it up thierno
