Thank god it didn't happen. There were many stories of him giving back handers to refs and chasing the dollar himself. That Leeds team were absolutely horrible. They had some good players though. But the man was an out and out cheat.

My first(other than the previous seasons Goodison derby ) experience of Everton doing an "Everton"how we failed to win that title in that season is beyond me,games against the relegated Luton and Carlisle as well as Sheff Utd at home in the "business" end of the season should have been "gimme's",I remember us beating Derby on their bog of a pitch to go top,they eventually won it ,two up at home to Carlisle,two up at home to Sheff Utd,win both those games we're champions,throw in being one nil up away at Luton and the Carlisle away debacle and we really should have cruised it, apologies for the bad memories containednot that I haven't let that season go eh?

Yeah I was at most of those games too. Was that the Anfield Derby where in the last minute the Latch was one on one with Clemence and as the ball bounced he took his eye off the keeper only for Clemence to retreat back to his line and when Latch lobbed it, it was like a back pass and just fell into the keepers arms. Forgive me if I'm wrong, memory not what it was.

No but Toshack did 2- 0 up at the pit 13 minutes to go - I was in the Kop - their fans were leaving & bang Toshack 2 goals in 3 minutes - then I thought that's it outplayed them but a point will do -
I decided to leave one leg in the Kop at the back one out in the last minute - Lawler scored for them I went ass over & just sat there crying aged 14 years old .
Unbelievable what the blues can do to you !
