Mendez style was a complete wake up call to McGregor, getting rushed waist high and pinned down with vicious elbows raining in, i think the bell saved him from defeat.

Was nervous that Chad might tap him out with his superior wrestling skills and more compact physique but it seems that as long as the Irish fella stays on his feet he's unstoppable.

I thought the opposite, i know its hard against a wrestler but apart from throwing a few open hand strikes and elbows he was pretty inactive, like he was trying to tie him up waiting for the ref to stand them up. Only when mendes tried to pass did he scramble and break free (which was good). A proper agressive fighter from their back would have been tryind to switch their hips sit out and create space to get a heel on the opponents hip. But as i said, easier said than done.

Erm, no not really. It's well known that numerous fighters including Rory McRonald have flat out refused to fight Hector Lombard.

I did mean because of the weight cutting thing, though.
