Honestly don't believe the fight will ever happen, (at FW), think Mendes is a harder fight for McGregor than Aldo, purely because of their styles. Out of interest why do you think CM would win?

Being ahead of by at least 4 points is getting destroyed IMO, he took Silva apart until the triangle.

Yeah ik what happened in the second fight.

Anderson second round tko, edgy first round but took him apart in the second, knee against the cage was brutal.

I explained my reasoning why I think McGregor would beat Aldo, I think it would be a stand up fight and McGregor has the better stand up, this coming from a big Aldo fan.

I agree that Mendes is a much tougher fight style wise.

Sorry mate typing messed up, tried saying I know what happened in the second.

If it goes as you say and McGregor is winning on the feet, could you see Aldo trying to wrestle him like he did vs Hominick? Think he would, not sure he's at the level to close the distance with wrestling though.

Yeh I think Aldo will defo try and take Conor down and if he did then he's a legit black belt on the mat but again Conor fights really long so as you say it would be difficult closing the distance.

Sonnen destroyed the greatest ever for 4 1/2 rounds, McGregor won't get close to doing that to Aldo (or Mendes).

Think McGregor vs Aldo will actually be a lightweight bout now, both of them have horrific weight cuts anyway without a ban on IVs that's coming in.

You have to remember though that Silva was only trying to sub Sonnen throughout that whole fight. Chael had been badmouthing the Noguera’s BJJ prior to the bout to hype it up, and Silva took exception to that and vowed to submit him. That’s why the fight looked like it did, and luckily for him Chael has never had the best ground and pound either.

McGregor fights at length and holds a size advantage over Mendes so I’m not sure it’ll be as easy for Mendes to take him down. Mendes is good at mixing up the TDs though, so it’s certainly a very interesting fight.

Did you see Aldo’s tweet about saying he hopes Mendes beats the ‘joker’? The more he opens his mouth the more he looks scared to fight McGregor. Dana White reckons he’s missed out on a $4m pay day by pulling out of this fight. Knowing full well no one wants to see Aldo-Mendes III, why would he want Mendes to win? Just stay quiet, or say you want to silence McGregor when healthy. For someone who complains about money so often, you’d think he’d have made more of an effort to ensure he made it to the fight. Even if that just meant wearing protection or making sure his sparing partners didn’t over step the mark.

With controversies over PED testing and the like, it does raise questions, especially considering he’s pulled out of quite a few fights in the past as well. I’ve always enjoyed watching Aldo fight but he’s hardly the pin up for sportsmanship. Was it the Korean Zombie who hurt his shoulder and Aldo kept hitting him there?

I hope McGregor beats down Mendes on Saturday and then Aldo has no choice but to face him and McGregor puts on a striking clinic. Unite the belts, fight Edgar and then move up to LW.

This lad has put some good work in to pull this together. A timeline of Aldo's PED test. Everyone loves a good conspiracy but this does look a bit odd.

Mike Tyson mentions in his book how easy it is to give a fake test, he used a whizzer, but with masking agents etc. these days, it can't be that hard. There was a show on once about athletes how they'd go missing for 6 months, fill their voicemail etc. so that no one could contact them and hit the juice hard and train, then benefit from the training while clean for the next 6 months competing.

I don't know if Aldo has done anything or not, but this adds to the conspiracy stories surrounding his pull outs.

Here is information about the drug test and related fight information in a condensed form. If you have any other information and sources please provide it.

12:30 pm - After CABMMA official hands sample to the American drug tester he poses for photo with Aldo and gets his autograph.
01:40 pm - Urine sample is shipped to the lab.

June 23

- 10 days after the drug test whilst sparring Aldo suffers a rib injury, awaits further tests to determine if he can fight.

the Mcgregor fight? got back from match then buzzin just need a conor win now
love that man lol

Why would anyone want Conor to lose unless you were a big Mendez fan if there was such a thing.

Conor loses this and the FW division is dead. A win tonight and if Aldo ever makes weight that would be massive!
