Kinda shows how vulnerable combats sports can be.

The UFC over the last 2 years has really suffered from injuries, mostly from champions pulling out in fairness. I think it would be a shame if this fight doesn't happen because of something Jones has done outside of the cage, cos I really wanted to see Rumble put him to sleep.

Without knowing any of the facts, there have been enough questions raised about Jones' lifestyle in the past and this just throws a bad light over him once again.

Anyone see the fights last weekend? Bisping's was decent, but I get the feeling he's on the decline. Mad how not many fighters can keep pace with him, I guess knowing how high he'll keep the pace and doing something about it are very different things. Shame he doesn't have a bit more power. But I liked his, 'If I can do this anyone can.' speech post-fight.

Rampage looked half decent considering the circumstances, but can't see him getting near the top again.

Great finish in the main event, but it wasn't a great fight. Is he that much better than the rest that he's completely dominating near enough every second of every fight these days?

Rampage looked decent but he's never touching the top 5. Same for Bisping sadly. Think Johnson is easily one of the best P4P fighters, can't see anyone at that weight class beating him for a long long time.

Gutted that Jones is out of 187 though, reckon that was gonna be the best card ever. Hopefully Cormier or Bader can step in for a fight for an interim belt or whatever

Sake. Was really looking forward to Barao Dillashaw as well, Jones best not be out of this. Having said that it's still a great card with Nurmagamedov vs Cerrone, Benavidez, Browne etc.

Can see Weidman vs Belfort being a bit of a boring fight, Weidman will take him down and hold him there I reckon.

Card the other night was a bit better than expected.

Who d'you fancy in Khabib/Cowboy btw?

Thing Khabib will just hold him for 3 rounds me

Can't pick a clear favourite really. Cerrone might surprise him with a triangle or armbar from guard if Khabib's not careful. All depends on how Khabib is after the injury for me. If he's the same as beforehand he wins I think.

Either way I hope it's a god fight and not as you say, which would be a big let down considering how entertaining Cerrone is.

Bit gutted tbh.

Yes he's a bellend, but this sport has just been robbed of it's Ali or Tyson.

This had to happen really. They found a pipe in his vehicle, along with MMA and rental car documents in his name, he ran off and then went back to get a load of cash, before running off again. You have to assume the reason he didn't stick around was cos he was high.

I know Joe Rogan had said on his JRE podcast that the guy is arguably the meanest mofo on the planet, who knows how people handle this kind of pressure etc. But if Jones does have a drug problem then he needs to spend longer than 24 hours in rehab, perhaps losing the belt etc. will motivate him to want to clean up his act.

It'll make for a good comeback PPV anyway.

Cormier - Rumble is still a good fight. Davis couldn't impose his wrestling on Rumble, granted he’s not Cormier but there’s no guarantee that Cormier can dominate Rumble in that regard. Hopefully given it’s short notice for both guys in terms of opponent it won’t take too much away from the matchup.

I don't rate Jones that highly. Don't get me wrong, good and everything, but when people talk about him being the "Ali or Tyson of his sport", nowhere near. GSP and Silva are streets ahead of him in terms of overall legacy.

It's only the Evans win on his resume that I'm truly impressed by - everyone else has been done by someone else beforehand and on a downward slope. I'd even place Weidman on a higher pedestal than Jones.

Lol wut? Jones beat Cormier who was 15-0, Gustaffson who had only lost once, a Shogun who still wasn't quite past it, Rashad Evans, Rampage Jackson, Sonnen and Belfort, virtually dominating every fight.

Weidman's only notable wins are his double over Silva which both came in questionable and arguably fortunate circumstances, Machida and Munoz who is even still short of DC/Gustaffson/Shogun quality.

To say Silva and GSP have bigger legacies is correct IMO, but you can't have Weidman above Jones, no matter how much of a helmet the latter is.
