Yes in a sense, terrible recruitment allowed in Moshiri's early years. However, if it was not for the war in Ukraine then the mega sponsorship deals would have kept flowing so there are some mitigating circumstances. However 777? Can't get my head around that.

We've been badly run, everyone can see that - however equally to blame are the nonsense rules that made the Premier League a two tier competition just as we came into cash.

Even if we were a fantastically well run club, with sponsors away from Usmanov to ensure we didn't get the rug pulled out from under us, we'd still be miles off. I have no issues with trying and falling flat on our faces. Hopefully the stadium situation gets sorted and we at least have this from our dark period. Remember city were minutes from going to the wall, had a dodgy owner and still ended up turning it all around, in part to their new stadium. It's possible.
