I stil don't see how you can think that they're further away from us now than when under Houllier they won three trophies in one year, finished 2nd and reached the latter stages of the CL reguarly while we were fighting off relegation. That team had us completely in their shadow.

The idea that the gap has widened now we're both midtable is just weird.

Sorry but Gerrard is still quality. Big question marks over him as a person but he's still a brilliant player and was a world class player. I think he's the kind that even though his legs are going he can still pick the ball up and wack a 50 yard pass and make things happen.

He'll be quality for maybe 10 games max (2 of which will be against us), the rest he will be very average. I'd rather have Fellaini these days as he is just as unplayable but in a different way. I'd take the Gerrard of old any day of the week though, he was quality.
I also wouldn't take Suarez but that would just be embarrasment at having someone like that at the club to be honest. He's good enough but I genuinely wouldn't want him.

It's the style of play that's boss. But we need a killer instinct and that needs to come from Moyes. Dalglish for all his faults always possessed a killer instinct.......

I think we will win them both this year, I genuinely think that not only do we have better team, but we have a different approach and they will not cope with us at all.
Not sure why, always feel like we will lose these, even last year when we were above them and looking good, still thought we would lose, this year I have a different feeling about 'em. This team could genuinely do something the way they are playing despite a leaky defence and their 1/1 shot to goal ability against us.

We're playing very well but were more than capable of a shocking display (wba, leeds). We'll have a **** display saved ready for them.
