The Power Shift On Merseyside

I want them in a semi-final or preferably final and to beat them. Been waiting all my life for that...
In my short time as an everton supporter i've only got to see us beat them once. would love a merseyside FA cup final where we win more than anything tbh.

Why not? They've won 23 points out of their last 25 games. That's their current team, the one that cost millions and is aiming to win the league and is littered with trophy winning world class players and they've won one in six this seasom.

They're struggling and we're flying (48 league points in the same period). We should shed this inferority complex we have and say this is our chance to take advantage of their struggles before they ineveitably recover again and really put them in our shade.

We won't because we're bottlers and the mere sight of their name scares us. You can tell because one of our own fans is seriously arguing that a team who finished 8th to our 7th is further in front of us then a one who finished 2nd to our 15th.

they had their worst season in many a year, still won a cup, got to another final, but coming 1 plsce higher in the league matters?
it only matters if we come 1st.

Amen bro.

It's not one year, they haven't finished in the top 5 for three years.

And of course it doesn't matter, it's no achievement at all to finish 7th no matter who finishes 8th. The cups were what mattered and they won those battles.

But the idea that they're more powerful than ever is just bollocks, they're crap. We're just scared of them, that's all.

Stop justifying our failiures by reimagining our enemies as giants. We got beaten up by a fecking windmill, deal with it.

They are slowly declining year after year.... people on the outside are now seeing them for what they are.. vile, twisted and more bitter than we could ever be and it is down to them being in constant denial of what is happening before their very eyes. Twenty years or so ago players would jump through hoops to play for them.... now players would rather sign for Spurs etc....

Saddest thing I've ever heard like. Mind how young are you that you can't remember the gosling derby?

i started supporting everton during the 2009/10 when we were 17th-ish. but i did see the gosling derby highlights, shame about gosling tho.

scared?
constantly comparing ourselves to them and obsessing with them is what is scared.

we should totally ignore them, get on with improving our own house and trying to restore our club back to the top.

The players you can sign is usually a decent indicator. For a while now they have only got players by throwing money at them. This year has shown that they are no longer a pull. When Stevie G retires that will be it for them, no recognised class players, no name who the plastic supporters will want on their backs.....

Moyes has presided over 23 Derbys and won only 4. Moyes needs to stop being so scared of them.

Exactly, we **** ourselves against them and then we come home and tell ourselves that they're such a big club and spend so much money that we couldn't have expected to compete with them while Wigan and west brom get six points of the gets.

By ignoring them do you mean bulling them up on here and acting as their PR ...........

No matter what poor form the RS have been the last 2 seasons especially, we still manage not to play very well.

Need to get a grip of Gerrard for starters. We let him play with too much freedom.

Other teams have shown that to beat them, you need to take the game to them, not sit back on the counter with fingers crossed.

no, i mean rather than constantly obsessing with them, comparing ourselves to them, we should be honest, ignore them and get on with restoring everton to the top.

sorry for not being biased and obsessed with putting them down, but i couldnt care less about liverpool.
doenst change the fact there has been no power shift.
