In the late 1960,s when Peter Lorrimer won the hardest shot competition our late sadly just departed Alex Sandy brown was up there in the top ten he had a thunderous shot I have ever seen in a blue shirt!
Have a look at the penalty shoot out v Brussia Muchengladbach the ball hit the Gladys street end net, and came back out!

This guy could hit a ball rather well.

....Yep, you also have to take into account the footballs in different era's, if you catch one these days they can really fly. On the subject of Brazil, though, the Little Bird Garrincha takes some beating. He could bend the old case balls like nobody else, recall one in the Park End during the 66!World Cup - what a player.

Garrincha was a true genius.

As for Rivelino, one of my all time fave players too (dead original you Jamo). You notice on the clip I posted, the goalie gets quite a bit of hand on it but it still goes in with force.

Not read the full thread. Of those in the poll, Trevor Ross certainly had a thunderous shot on him.

Slightly different theme, but Howard Kendall's volleys were technically brilliant, whether shots or cross field passes. Definately the best vollyer of a ball that I have ever seen.

I know the dude didn't play for us long but Drenthe had a rocket of a shot, shame he didn't take the initiative to make use of his talent at Everton, waste of ability.

Here's Sandy in that famous European up first ever penalty shoot out last few minutes of the link below -
On as sub took a thunderbolt last pen it hit the net and came back out in mud! his shot was so hard, as he was!

Muddy kit :) Got off the pitch fast - did they come back on ?

For Everton, Bruce Rioch could thump a ball.

Aye.

Remember that danish fella that kendall MKIII tried to sign. Barney Goldback. Went to chelsea. He had a vicious welly on him an' all. Was reported as the hardest shot in world football, apparently.

Loads of german players have had a good shot on them, too.
