Ok, started my day getting the train from Bournemouth to London Waterloo, walked up to Charing Cross and found this beautiful pub, had a couple of bevvies in here and got chatting to a sound old lid, was telling me about how he was a child in the 48 Games and how he'd been to Liverpool and had a pint in the Phil. Served a boss Amstel and the Polish barmaid was interesting
Then just a bit futher up, I found the Sherlock Homes, not as good as The Ship & Shovel, but met two boss Canadians, they had come especially for the Games, talked for about 20mins about Wayne Gretsky, Bret Hart and who their medal hopes are. They were a couple from near Ontario, all they did was make me wanna visit Canada, they left and I wished them well. There were some yuppie type nobheads in ther though so I did one and thought about heading to Wembley.
Walked across the bridge past the Horse Guards Parade towards Waterloo and took this pic of the City
Got off at Wembley and walked up to Wembley way to this. Was a great sight and good atmosphere about.
Didn't realise at first this was the badminton arena, but got a pic of the Olympic rings
Got me ticket from the box office with no fuss or bother whatsoever.
I still had two hours to kill before kick off so found a little bar by Wembley. They only had Fosters, £4 a bleeding pint, was fuming, but didnt care in the end, just sat and watched the tele and soaked it up.
Now I tried my best with these pics. The one with her back to me, one word...BUSTY. She was Brazilian/British and I was too scared to chat to her, she was intimidatingly sexy. Her mate wasn't bad either.
The two of them were then joined by this beauty on the left. Lads this pic doesn't do her justice, she was stunning!! I knew it was going to be a good day, unfortunately though these were the best pics I could take on my gash blackberry.
Half an hour from kick off I headed back to Wembley, the atmosphere was building up nicely and the organisers, police, volunteers and military security were so so friendly, smiling and saying hello to you.
Got into the ground and was seriously impressed with the crowd.
GB took an early lead which set the tone. I thought they played fantastic and it was a brilliant advert for the Womens game. That Kelly Smith is a fantastic player, Jill Scott was a bit quieter but still dominant and Steph Houghton played brilliant again. The number 9 for Brazil was easily their best player.
There where loads of Brazilians, all sound, each with their club banners, loads of Palmeries, Santos and Corinthians flags.
Oh the tube back to Waterloo I got chatting to some Americans from New England, big group of high school kids with their coaches, convinced them to support Everton and they loved it when I said Howard & Donovan played for Everton.
All in all I had a boss day by myself, I had some bevvies, seen some Olympic action and was apart of it, was superb lids
