Disgusting, hope I don't have nightmares. It's the slimy feel and holes, which really take the biscuit, and not a tasty biscuit at that.
Anyone tried it?

In Cork, drisheen is still popular I believe @NeroCeasarMy mum used to eat tripe, it would be wobbling on the plate, I used to run out of the dining room, yuk.![]()

Drisheen is a very tasty blood sausage, much nicer than most black puddings.

If you haven't eaten tripe and pigs feet you haven't lived. It's the slimy feel and holes, which really take the biscuit, and not a tasty biscuit at that.
I have, Morrisons used to have it occasionally. My dad loved tripe and onions with plenty of vinegar. The problem isn't the taste, its the texture. If you are ok with that then you will probably like it.Disgusting, hope I don't have nightmares.

Pigs trotters, another of my dads favourites. If you haven't eaten tripe and pigs feet you haven't lived.

Used to love belly pork, not had it for years.Me dad had tripe or pigs belly, disgusting.
I tried pigs trotters once just for the hell of it. I'll tell you one thing, there's little to no meat on them. If you've ever got a yearning though to make your own pork pies they make a lovely jelly to put in them.If you haven't eaten tripe and pigs feet you haven't lived.
It is still popular but mostly amongst the older population. Young people don't seem to touch it much. Of course it is always sold with tripe to make the infamous Tripe and Drisheen dishIn Cork, drisheen is still popular I believe @NeroCeasar

Tripe is a very acquired taste and certainly not one I would be looking to indulge at any stageI've never eaten tripe - I remember seeing it in butchers' windows as a kid, Moore Street springs to mind - but I have enjoyed eating haggis when in Edinburgh. Sheep's heart, liver and lungs wrapped in its stomach.![]()
I never liked liver on its own though.
