Saw the first half of Southampton vs Chelsea. Actually didn't think Southampton looked that bad, they were knocking it around ok. Bit soft in the middle maybe, but Chelsea are good going forward. Looked better than Leicester.
Glad Wolves lost. Would rather they went down than Ipswich, if only to keep a bit of churn from the league. 5 points is already a pretty big gap though, but there's still time if they picked up a couple of results in a row (like us).

Defensively they're all completely awful. Having a robust defence has helped us hugely in being safe each season.

I hope not - that'd be a disgraceful end to our time at Goodison. Effectively acting like a gang of tomb raiders on one of the pyramids.

It happens. It will happen. Hopefully it won't be a widespread thing and won't detract from the day.

Gotta say, seeing what that spurs fan did with his seat, you have to wonder what's the point. An absolute abomination.

They have gone off the boil since Rashford and Asensio went there, something like 3 wins in the last 9 which for them isn't good.
Think last night was their first loss since those 2 went there. Their form has been pretty consistent all season, just consistently average. Think they've been in that sort of 6th-10th area since about October.

Wow. That's bad.

I'd be interested in buying a row of 3 or 4 goodison seats, with money going to charity. Get the properly cemented in place up by the shed in the garden.
I wouldn't make some kind of half-wood, half-plastic deck chair though

Fans will too busy dismantling the stadium to be concerned with a football match going on.

I mean while that would be wrong, it did occur to me the other day that I will have been in my seat for 6 years come the end of the season. And as such I've paid over £3000 for it. So when the club inevitably offer it to me for something like 100 quid, I'm going to wishing I was one of the tomb raiders.

They have drawn a few games recently which they were not doing much previously. Another poster who is local to the area was saying its because Emery has started messing with the formation a bit and making a few odd subs in games.

Dunno why Moyes is still going on about us not being safe, we are well safe
It's the sensible thing to do. Play down expectation. It's no good him saying we're aiming for the top 10 because it's making a rod for his own back, much better to say he's just aiming to stay up and then say 15th is a job well done. Never understood why people got so wound up by Dyche doing the same, it's just basic common sense to be honest.

There's a line though when that becomes counter productive.

The sooner we shift narrative from relegation, the better as we head into a summer when we have to attract a lot of players to join.

Oh yeah, 100%. Next season we can't be making noises like that for sure. I think the last couple seasons just setting expectations at a reasonable level has been sensible, and same for Moyes now. The last thing he needs is to set himself up for a fall by saying he's aiming for top half and then ending up way off it, much better to play the 'considering the position we were in' card.
