Any signings I’d imagine this season will want some degree is assurance as to whether the manager is planned to be here longer than a year. If I’m a footballer being courted by Everton and a four year contract, I’m not sure I’d want to play for a manager only contracted for one more year at the club.
This 100%
I personally think he's will be given a 3 year contract in the summer, as the noise coming out of the club they are happy with Mr mid table

I dont know a whole pile about the business of running a football club but I know a small bit about how American businesses work.
I would pay absolutely no attention to what Kinnear says.
TFG will be looking at the socials and possibly this and other forums, if there's any sense of unease between the manager and the fan base, they'll reevaluate any contract without a second thought. It's all about image and perception.
A bad result v spurs and I doubt we'll see any contract extension. Tho they probably will let him see out this one, knowing that if things get really bad mid season, they can save a few quid.
Whats the point in tying Moyes down now. No club is poaching him.
I wonder what they make of the 17 different David Moyes polls, some showing contradictory results and/or many cat gifs?

Of the 5 teams either relegated or promoted this season (Burnley featuring in both) or 30 points available, we took 11.

No
Not really. If he signed them, he obviously thought he screwed up...at least in 2 of the 3 signings because he wont play them so that means he has no eye for young talent:)
And yet George played in the World Cup Championship. Barry had a very good season in La Liga and Dibling was described by his ex manager as a generational talent.

If Moyes is replaced in the summer it will have been here 18 months. At least TFG got that right with their original contract offer. A shame they finally agreed on 30 months.
Who would you have them appoint? A manager who'd won European trophies and cups in three major European Leagues ...like Benitez?

It's all very well saying we want Moyes gone....

Who??

And it's all academic, FG will be more than happy, new stadium and Moyes will keep us safe. Another term of purgatory coming. We won't be fighting relegation but won't be fighting for the top 6 either .
What makes you think we won't be fighting relegation? Our form in this calendar year is bottom 6, our 2 central defenders are both declining at the same time and we have an inflexible manager who is obviously behind the times and is being out thought by most other managers.

The one I want is Iraola but this could just as easily be applied to Glasner. Disregarding any rumours going around about him being interested - Chelsea and Bilbao jobs are now gone. Unless he wants to take a year out he would be looking at us, Newcastle or maybe Fulham.

I think we certainly would be in with a shot. We as fans like to put the club down and act like someone would have to be mad to take the job here. Let's have it right. We have a rich owners, an amazing new stadium, pay one of the highest wages in football to our manager and many of the of the senior members of the squad are on their way out. We can offer a young manager the opportunity to really build something without having their squad sold every summer like what Iraola and Glasner have dealt with at Bournemouth and Palace.

In other words, the right manager could look at us and say this is a real project, as close to a blank slate as you can get in football where I will be able to build a new identity for this club. A new identity being something we are absolutely crying out for as well btw.

I'm not seeing us being an attractive/unattractive proposition for a manager as being the problem at all. If there's a problem it's our own lack of ambition internally.
Iriola has done really well with a Bournemouth squad full of athletes with pace and intensity. All the things our squad lacks. The problem for any new manager would be the same Moyes faced. A threadbare squad with not enough money available to do more than paper over the cracks.

Well Moyes had £125 million to change that and didn't, so let's get rid of him and give Iraola £125 million plus any player sales and see what he can do.

I dont think the team was loads better (Lukaku aside); the playing system was better.

They could all keep possession, and that's half the battle in football - as many 'unfashionable' clubs can prove. Possession based football is something that Moyes cant do, no matter what the standard of player he has at his disposal.
Team wasn’t loads better? Peak Baines and Coleman, jags and stones not better than Myko, Keane, tarks and JOB at RB?

Barry, mccarthy, peak Barkley is better than any midfield 3 we play now.

Lukaku better striker.

Only players that could get in to that team from current team is Ndiaye, garner, Pickford and KDH.

Im not including JB as he hasn’t played all season.

I don't think modern premier league footballers think like this at all. The tenure of a premier league manager is very short, around 16 months, regardless of how long a contract they have. The most players do when speaking to the manager is try to see how they will be played in his team and how often. Most important, how long is the contract and how much will they be paid!

Baines was not peak Bianes, as he proved under Martinez.

Coleman yes.

Jagielka was cracking on

Stones was an untested player by Moyes - Martinez brought him through to be a player.

Lukaku I already mentioned.

They were a better team. That's my point. A better team under Martinez than the one we have now because Martinez knew how to play in a possession based system. Moyes cant do that because he's a half-wit in footballing terms.

We will need to sign a bunch of players in any case. Whether Moyes stays, Iraola or Glasner or whoever else comes in, the squad needs a lot of work.

Already said in another post it's all about perspective. You see that as a reason to keep Moyes but for me its just another reason to get rid. Moyes will want senior players, ready to plug and play which is more expensive, and suited to his style which is questionable if he leaves at the end of his contract. In theory Iraola would want younger, more affordable development players, and would be more willing to work with those already at the club such as Aznou, Alcaraz, Armstrong, Dibling.

By the way, you've had your lot on Moyes now from the club. That's their statement and they expect you to decipher it anyway you want. They wont be mentioning Moyes again this summer. They left it vague about contracts and that's that. They'll leave all the speculation now t fans and just buy a few players (after a fashion) and then start next season with Moyes in the dugout.

No clarity. Nothing. Just like with the ST price increases: "Here's what's happening". End of debate.
