The Moyes Question

Just like when we sold Rooney and Lescott then?

Don't be daft. We'd have money to reinvigorate the squad and we'd trudge along 8th-12th in the Premier League.

Jags is good but by no means the spine of our team, and Fellaini isn't as central as I'd like him to be in our successes either. They'd both damage the team if they left, badly in fact, but Moyes would use the money well.

Yeah your right lad, maybe we can try and Hijack the Mata deal before he signs for Chelsea.

And wait a minute, your saying that AFTER signing some new players we still only finish 8th-12th?

Im sorry I thought we were having a serious discussion.

Nevermind, carry on.

I know lets sell Jagielka, Fellaini, Barkley, Arteta and Cahill and throw in a bid for MESSI!!!

I did that once on FM.........

Actually another comparison is the 1984 Everton squad, who got performances nailed down and a previously hit and miss squad suddenly became unbeatable due to impeccable performances and consistent results.

And i still believe that this squad is capable of that! maybe not a league winning side, but if we could just get one decent FULL season we'd be challenging top 4 certainly.

What Moyes got wrong was putting Rodwell and Heitinga in the middle together.

That was the only thing wrong. Everything else was the players.

Moyes just needs cash in order to fill certain gaps in the team. Winger for one.

Rodwell was on the right mate.

Actually, any sale would go through Moyes anyway - but I think after that performance Moyes will sell players. He himself said in January that squads NEED new faces to come in to be invigorated.

This isn't an FM suggestion, this is reality. We need to sell to buy, we are ridiculously stale after TWO YEARS of non-activity, so I honestly think that if Moyes isn't completely stupid then he'll sell to buy. Jags I reckon should deffo go, and if anything near £20m comes in for Fellaini or £15m for Rodwell (lol) we should snap their hands off.

Even Baines isn't immune. £25-30m for me.

This squad is at the end of its cycle and it's time to rebuild. You can't do that with money from the build, and as such we need to sell players whilst they're still assets. A 29-year-old centre-half when we Distin and Heitinga in the squad is one such asset.

I would not blame Moyes if he just walked, i have half my head saying that it'd be bad, and the other half telling me that the excitement of a new manager and a completely new approach could change us and everything.

However the best option imo would be to bring the Yak back in with Beckford, and adopt 442, especially at home.
And when i say that i don't just mean play in our usual style and mentality with the same personell just in a 442 formation, I mean actually change the entire way we play, train and think about games - by taking a whole new approach.

Every time I saw him he was coming inside.

But then again he was anonymous most of the time in the game.

That's because he's not a winger. But he was definitely on the right. Kept running into Phil Neville, failing to get round the QPR left back and smacking passes ski-wiff for 50 odd minutes.

As Tubes said he kept cutting in. Like a Pienaar style "winger" ;)

Do you not think Moyes also got it wrong by going 4-4-1-1 at home? Or by sticking with Cahill all game? Or by taking off Beckford for Fellaini? Or by letting Arteta take a dangerously positioned free kick over Baines? Or by not including Yakubu at all?

Kenwrong "There are some players in the squad that we couldnt possibly sell"
Moyes "Every player in the squad is for sale at the right place"

Anyway, Moyes has never sold a player that didnt wish to leave.

Lescott went rat, thus he was sold, untill then he was going nowhere, Jags wont go rat, so hes going nowhere, thankfully.

Im a Moyes fan, the Man can do no wrong, but im not quite sure what went thru his head today.

Should have started 4-4-2.
Shouldnt have taken off a striker for a DM when your losing.

I blame Kenwrong to be honest, I swear I saw him on the phone telling Moyes to do it.

What a crap day to be an Everton fan.........

Well it wasnt all bad, met Chicomelt and Ghost pre-match.

We walked the "lucky" way to the ground, wont be going that way Ever again.

Jog on Everton, your badly GASH.

Best line of the day this, sums things up perfectly

Jack Rodwell was a winger today, not bad for a player thats played CB most of his short career.

Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Possibly.

In response to all points. NO.

For one thing we don't know precisely how fit Saha was. Can Moyes stop Arteta taking a free kick when him and Baines make a decision.

And isn't Yakubu being sold?
