The Moyes Question

This is all non-blues see too, some reds in work think i'm delusional talking about Moyes the way I do sometimes.

Outsiders don't see a whole campaign, they see the storming run that poor litle Everton do at the end of a season when we've no players.

Yup.

Well the key hole in that is - how can he not repeat them when he doesn't have the player(s) he needs not to repeat them.

A top class winger ?

You know I agree we need a winger more than any other type of player, but honestly mate we had enough to wallop QPR today. It's an insult to the players we do have to say anything other than that.

I do agree he makes mistakes, but i'm 100% behind him.

I used to be, mate; take the good with the bad and all that. But when the good thing about Moyes is transfer acumen, and we don't make any transfers anymore, I really had to rethink that view.

Look i think after walter smith
david moyes has done so much for this club
i for one would not blame him
if he just said thats it i have had enough
to me he has done more than enough

Sadly one day it will come to this and everyone will be devastated.

It's clear that he's not going to change how we play, so it's up to him to get the players in that we need to make it work. That means replacements for Pienaar and Yakubu and preferably the wide player we needed even when we were good at this system.

The Moyes question is an interesting one.

The man has done a hell of a lot to make Everton better but his weaknesses are blatant and have been there a long time.

- Substitutions are laughable at times
- Team selection is usually too obvious
- The formation is ridiculous. 451 is only used to fit Cahill in I'm sure of it.
- And many more...

Now, there's been people bringing put the 'Moyes Out' banners and I really don't know where I am on that.

As pointed out he has his weaknesses. But who could we get who is better? And perhaps more interestingly, who would want to manage us?! The chairmans words this week have not exactly made us look attractive.

Moyes In or Moyes Out?!

I have no idea.

There is no one who can do a better job than moyes. Stop the knee jerk reactions, don't be so fickle and now is the time to get behind the team. Be strong lads

I'd sell Jagielka and even Fellaini immediately just to bring in a wide player and a striker.

Unfortunately, the N'Zogbia boat has sailed and I can't name a striker in the world who would A ) come to us and B ) be of the quality required, as most quality players had business sured up early.

In short, we're fecked.

Very poor individual player performances.

Poor crowd response. Club politics.

Posted that above.

The players, the crowd, the board... anything and everything but Moyes, eh?

You're a broken annoying record at times. If you can't acknowledge Moyes got it wrong today then I actually feel a bit sorry for you.

As I pointed out the other Day, if we sold Jagielka and Fellaini, for lets say 35m, the Bank would say "Thanks and Goodbye", Moyes would walk and we would be playing our Derby games vs Southport and Marine.

One thing is certain.

He isn't half as good a coach as his cheerleaders in the media would have you believe.

No but i believe the players like arteta and cahill who think he is a top manager hence why they have spent a large part of their careers here

Are you not behind him then?

I don't trust him anymore mate. Or rather, I trust him to do the wrong thing. Unless we're playing a top 6 side that isn't Liverpool or Arsenal.

All of the above are correct mate. But Moyes has to take blame too. I know you love him, but admit it mate. Even Goat has ffs.

It's a bit of both - but the "Invincibles" at Arsenal went on that run as they perfected a style of performance and a consistency to apply it rigidly to each game. Results breed confidence, yes, but without the performance during the 90 minutes you won't get the result.

There's been four games in the last year where I've came down on hard on Moyes - today, Bolton, Burnley and Manchester City. Any other game, despite the result, I've seen at least a handful of positives (even the first game of last season we looked good going forward and during Aug/September we were badly unlucky) and said so.

I entirely agree and how id love for us to come close to what they did at arsenal! I think it does come down to getting that balance of the winning mindset and decent performances week in week out.

It just seems to me that had we played in exactly the same way as we did today (at least in the first half) but it was during a winning streak, we would have scored goals, as it is we are not quite there mentally.

Just like when we sold Rooney and Lescott then?

Don't be daft. We'd have money to reinvigorate the squad and we'd trudge along 8th-12th in the Premier League.

Jags is good but by no means the spine of our team, and Fellaini isn't as central as I'd like him to be in our successes either. They'd both damage the team if they left, badly in fact, but Moyes would use the money well.

Actually another comparison is the 1984 Everton squad, who got performances nailed down and a previously hit and miss squad suddenly became unbeatable due to impeccable performances and consistent results.
