The Moyes Question

I 100% believe without him we would be relegated.

We would have been. I agree.

Past glories are something I think we've all indulged in a bit too much though.

Present tense, and the past few seasons, the same problems have persisted. We can blame the board all we like -- and yes, we should to some extent, as their impotence is embarrassing -- but Moyes makes so many mistakes. And the key part is, he doesn't work on them or learn from them. He seems to ignore them and repeat them.

Exactly.

I wish we started strongly and finished poorly. That way people wouldn't forget these things.

As someone said earlier, we dig ourselves a hole and then look good at the end of a season as we dig ourselves out of it.

This is all non-blues see too, some reds in work think i'm delusional talking about Moyes the way I do sometimes.

Outsiders don't see a whole campaign, they see the storming run that poor litle Everton do at the end of a season when we've no players.

Well the key hole in that is - how can he not repeat them when he doesn't have the player(s) he needs not to repeat them.

A top class winger ?

I do agree he makes mistakes, but i'm 100% behind him.

I like how what should be reasonable discussion over A GAME OF FOOTBALL descends into "at least I go the game". I'm a season ticket holder and those 6 words gets on my tits. I suppose now for calling it just a "game" my passion for the club will be questioned...

Don't pay any mind to those tits.

i would say Performances should create results, however this doesn't always seem to be the case with us, based purely on performance today, Everton should have won (not because they were anything special, but certainly better than QPR).

I agree that teams shouldn't win based on luck, but if we reverted back to playing like we did in 04/05 and got 4th then id be much happier than if we play like we do now and finish mid table.

It's a bit of both - but the "Invincibles" at Arsenal went on that run as they perfected a style of performance and a consistency to apply it rigidly to each game. Results breed confidence, yes, but without the performance during the 90 minutes you won't get the result.

There's been four games in the last year where I've came down on hard on Moyes - today, Bolton, Burnley and Manchester City. Any other game, despite the result, I've seen at least a handful of positives (even the first game of last season we looked good going forward and during Aug/September we were badly unlucky) and said so.
